I've got to admit I couldn't believe when they shoehorned friendlies in before Nations League double headers.

Even in normal times we didn't have three games per team in an international break.

Mark: Gomez & Ake getting injured you’ve got to wonder why we are playing these needless internationals in such a congested season. no spectator revenue anyway so first priority should be player welfare..limiting international matches can give them chance to recover

Anon: I agree with BenFlan. After the break we are playing 13 games in 42 days. Except for the euros qualifiers the rest should not be happening, play a full league fixture list this weekend and let the players have some non competitive training time

Anon: Everyone seems to be saying scrap internationals, which I at least sympathise with regarding pointless friendlies, but why is no one saying scrap European club football instead? Surely that's not a priority
