NI defender Tom Flanagan needs a bit of treatment after hurting himself while stretching to block a cross.

David Alaba runs over to take his sixth corner of the day. He whips it in and Marcel Sabitzer shoots over.

Good play by Stuart Dallas and Paddy McNair on the right wing for NI but McNair sends a cross straight over the bar.

Paddy McNair's cross finds Liam Boyce, but he can't react and the ball hits him and runs away. Almost.

NI try to take it short but the referee demands a retake.

Only one shot on target in that half and it's pushing it really to call Tom Flanagan's header that. I could have caught it.

In terms of permutations Northern Ireland need to win this game really.

If they draw (or lose) and Uefa decides to give Romania three points because Norway couldn't play today's game, then Northern Ireland will be relegated.

That's not saying Uefa will give Romania the points, but it's an option.

NI having a good night in Vienna

It's important to keep perspective, of course, but, given the week they have had, that has been a good half for Northern Ireland.

Their shape has been excellent, they are giving Austria very little space and, with Conor Washington and Liam Boyce full of running, they always have an outlet up front.

The players who have come in have done well, with Alistair McCann looking busy and assured on his international debut.

The next stage is to start threatening more and creating chances, but Ian Baraclough will be happy with the 45 minutes of work his players have put in.

HALF-TIME

The half-time whistle goes and Northern Ireland thoroughly deserve to be level.

Good play by NI and they have a corner. Paddy McNair runs onto a throw-in and his cross is put behind before Liam Boyce can pounce.

Sadly the corner is cleared.

Paddy McNair whips in another free-kick but there's a push and it's a free out to Austria.
