  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    Spain 0-0 Germany

Napoli's Fabian Ruiz comes on to replace Sergio Canales.

I've got a feeling that may not be the last muscle injury we see in the next day or two.

There are several classes between the sides at Molineux and Engand could have had four or five already.

They do have a second goal, Leicester full-back James Justin arrving at the far post to thunder in after a good run and cross from the opposite flank by Derby's Lee Buchanan.

    Spain 0-0 Germany

There's our first muscle injury of the night.

Real Betis midfielder Sergio Canales is forced off after stretching to control a clearance.

Spain are going to play with 10 for a few minutes, while a sub warms up.

    Spain 0-0 Germany

It's been a good start to this game as Timo Werner gets in behind the Spain defence. But, he decides to lay off a long ball over the top, into the path of Leroy Sane but Pau Torres is again back to clear.

Spain were appealing for offside, but left-back Jose Gaya kept him onside. There's no VAR in the Nations League remember.

  5. Swedes in the leadpublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    France 0-1 Sweden

    Sweden

This was not in the script as Sweden take an early lead at the Stade de France!

Viktor Claesson is the man breaking the early deadock, his shot deflected in off Raphael Varane.

  6. GOOD SAVE!published at 6 mins

    Spain 0-0 Germany

    Ooh, close from Sergio Ramos!

He decides, wisely I reckon, to whip it low and hard but Manuel Neuer does well to get down and parry it away.

They've just shown a replay of the 'foul' and Ilkay Gundogan is at least a yard away from touching Dani Olmo. What a terrible decision.

  7. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Spain 0-0 Germany

Wow. The Spanish players are surrounding Swedish referee Andreas Ekberg as he gives a free-kick as Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan catches Dani Olmo on the edge of the area.

Spain were convinced that was on the line, or in the area.

This is right on the edge. Sergio Ramos is lining up to take it, what can he do?

  8. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Spain 0-0 Germany

That's good covering from Villarreal's Pau Torres as Serge Gnabry is almost through down the middle after Sergi Roberto loses the ball cheaply in midfield.

Torres has been linked with a host of Premier League sides in recent windows, including Manchester City.

  9. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Spain 0-0 Germany

Perhaps surprisingly these two are ranked ninth and 13th in the Fifa world rankings respectively. That must be as low as they've been in a while, certainly in my lifetime.

Spain have made a confident start as Alvaro Morata scuffs a shot that Manuel Neuer saves with ease.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    Spain 0-0 Germany

    Germany get us under way.

Remember Spain must win this game if they want to qualify for the finals. Germany know as long as they avoid defeat they will be there instead.

Will that affect the two teams tactics?

    Spain v Germany (19:45 GMT)

The players are out on the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla pitch and we're going through the national anthems.

It's still very strange seeing games in front of empty stadiums, isn't it? Although watching clips where crowds were at games is now almost as weird, it feels that long ago.

  12. Plenty to play for elsewherepublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

All games kick-off at 19:45 GMT

There's still the small matter of promotion and relegation to decide in three other groups tonight.

It still feels weird saying that about international football, doesn't it? It's good weird though, right?

  13. Premier League managers (and fans) hold their breathpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

One of the recurring themes throughout this congested season is players picking up injuries.

I imagine there will be Premier League managers and probably a lot of you at home holding your breath hoping a key player for your team doesn't pick up an injury tonight. And that's before we've mentioned coronavirus...

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will probably be the one holding his breath the most. He's got four players playing from the start, but will be delighted to see Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo on the Portugal bench.

Wolves and Chelsea both have three players in tonight's starting teams, while Spurs and United both having two.

There is some good news for managers (and probably some of you too...) - tonight is the penultimate night of international football till March, so players sole focus will be on their club soon enough.

    France v Sweden (19:45 GMT)

    Marcus ThuramImage source, EPA

France have qualified for the Nations League finals but it's a strong line-up all the same, with seven starters from the 2018 World Cup final.

Marcus Thuram, son of legendary Lilian, gets his first competitive start on the left wing as Kylian Mbappe returns to the bench after a hamstring injury.

Sweden will be relegated if they do not better Croatia's result against Portugal.

  15. Postpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    England U21 1-0 Albania U21

    Well that didn't take long!

Albania can still qualify as one of the best runners-up but they won't get there with errors like that.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi cuts in from the left and hits a low shot which the keeper fumbles into the back of the net.

  16. Jota starts for Portugalpublished at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    Croatia v Portugal (19:45 GMT)

Croatia make six changes from their 2-1 defeat in Sweden on Saturday.

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is one of the men to come in, while Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic keeps his place in midfield.

Croatia starting XI: Livakovic, Juranovic, Lovren, Skoric, Bradaric, Modric, Rog, Kovacic, Vlasic, Perisic.

As expected seeming they can't qualify for the finals Portugal make a handful of chances - seven in total.

It's still a very strong team though with Wolves' Nelson Semedo, Joao Moutinho, and Liverpool's Diogo Jota joining Rui Patricio, Ruben Dias and Bruno Fernandes in XI.

Cristiano Ronaldo starts again as he looks to close the gap between Iran's Ali Daei at the top of the all-time international goalscoring charts.

Portugal starting XI: Patricio, N Semedo, Dias, R Semedo, Rui, Pereira, Moutinho, Fernandes, Felix, Ronaldo, Jota.

  17. France already in finals, but battle to avoid the drop in Group A3published at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

Croatia v Portugal & France v Sweden (both 19:45 GMT)

France became the first, and only team so far, to reach the finals when they beat Portugal through N'Golo Kante's goal on Saturday.

Portugal are also guaranteed to finish second so that just leaves the small matter of relegation to decide in group A3.

Croatia, who were due to be relegated in the inaugural Nations League before the tournament was revamped, and Sweden both know that if they better the other sides result they will be safe.

If both are level on points at the end of the evening they will be seperated on goal difference and then goals scored.

  18. U21s up and runningpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    England U21 0-0 Albania U21

Aidy Boothroyd's lads have kicked-off at Molineux. They have already qualified for the European finals next year.

The unusual tournament will be held in Hungary and Slovenia, with the group stage played out in March and the finals at the start of June so as not to clash with the rescheduled Euro 2020.

  19. De Gea misses out for Spainpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    Spain v Germany (19:45 GMT)

Spain boss Luis Enrique has made five changes from his side's 1-1 draw in Switzerland on Saturday.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea again misses out, with Bilbao's Unai Simon preferred. There's a start for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, alongside teammate Ferran Torres.

Spurs left-back Sergio Reguilon is left out of the matchday squad completely.

Spain starting XI: Simon, Roberto, Ramos, P Torres, Gaya, Rodri, Canales, Koke, Olmo, Morata, F Torres.

In comparison, Germany manager Joachim Low makes just one change from their 3-1 win over Ukraine at the weekend.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka replaces Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

There is a start for Rudiger's club teammate Timo Werner though, alongside Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan and Leeds' Robin Koch.

Germany starting XI: Neuer, Koch, Sule, Ginter, Max, Gundogan, Goretzka, Gnabry, Werner, Sane.

  20. All to play for in Group A4 - just not tonight...published at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2020

    Spain v Germany (19:45 GMT)

There is still plenty to decide in Group A4 so that's where the majority of our attention is going to be tonight.

Germany - who didn't win in the Nations League till their seventh attempt - are in pole position to reach the finals. They know that as long as they avoid defeat against Spain they are through to the four-team tournament that is set to take place in October 2021.

It's pretty simple for Spain too, they must beat Germany to reach the finals.

There's also relegation to decide - however, that isn't going to be decided tonight. Ukraine's game against Switzerland has been postponed after three players tested positive for coronavirus.

Uefa are still deciding what action to take, but if the game does take place, Switzerland, who reached the finals last time, must beat Ukraine 1-0, 2-1 or by at least two goals to survive. Ukraine just need to avoid defeat, really.
