Harrogate 4-1 Skelmersdale
Ninth-tier Skelmersdale United were unable to cause a shock in the first round of the FA Cup as they were beaten by League Two side Harrogate Town.
North West Counties Premier League Skelmersdale fell behind in the first minute when Calvin Miller scored after Mark Beck had hit the post.
Beck added a second goal just before half-time with a glancing header.
Jake Lawlor's deflected effort made it 3-0, Aaron Martin headed in a fourth before Danny Mitchley's consolation.
Skelmersdale were the lowest-ranked side left in the FA Cup and had won six matches to reach the first round proper for the first time since 1971.
But they never looked like making club history by advancing into the second round.
Harrogate 4-1 Skelmersdale
Skelmersdale manager Paul McNally tells BT Sport: "I think we can be proud of how we played. They were so fit, moved the ball so well and I was fearing it would be a cricket score.
"If you don't take your chances at the right time you won't get a result. Was 4-1 a harsh result? Maybe. They're a good side and will probably go through to the third round.
"All the boys are a bit down, a bit deflated but to get this far from our level is a great achievement. I could not be more proud of the club."

A busy weekend of FA Cup action and we have 13 live matches for you across the BBC tomorrow and Sunday.
A number of positive coronavirus tests among AFC Wimbledon's "first-team group" means Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie at Barrow has been postponed.
"Testing of all first-team players and staff is now taking place, as well as Under-18 squad members as a precautionary measure," said a statement on AFC Wimbledon's website.
"The first team group will now all self isolate.
"The match will be rescheduled on a date to be confirmed."
So, for only the second time in their history, Harrogate Town are in the second round of the FA Cup.
The draw takes place on Monday and is live on BBC Two from 19:00 GMT. They're one game away from a dream tie against one of the big boys in the third round.
Harrogate 4-1 Skelmersdale
Harrogate's Josh Falkingham tells BT Sport: "I think it was professional, we weren't at our best. Skelmersdale made it tough for us and we had to fight hard and get the job done and we're delighted to be in the hat for the second round.
"We scored four good goals but it was disappointing to concede late on. It could've been a huge banana skin and you don't want to go out of the FA Cup but we were as professional as we could've been."
Harrogate 4-1 Skelmersdale
Danny Mitchley (Skelmersdale)
A well-taken left-footed volley from Danny Mitchley and Skelmersdale of the ninth tier at least have a goal to celebrate.
Harrogate 4-0 Skelmersdale
Nearly a fifth for the hosts. Kevin Lokko aims for the far post, it hits the woodwork and bounces back into the arms of Ben Barnes.
Harrogate 4-0 Skelmersdale
Skelmersdale substitute Richard Brodie, who once hit the crossbar at Old Trafford as his York City side took on Manchester United, shoots at goal but can't keep it down and it's just over the top.
Harrogate 4-0 Skelmersdale
Can Skelmersdale have a moment and get a goal back? They've not looked like scoring so far and it's been an easy night for Joe Cracknell in the home goal.
Harrogate 4-0 Skelmersdale
Aaron Martin
Too easy. Josh Falkingham's cross is headed into the net by substitute Aaron Martin. There will be no shock today.
Jake Lawlor
And that's the game. A free-kick from the right is sent in low by substitute George Thomson, the Skelmersdale defence fait to clear it and it falls to Jake Lawlor, whose weak effort takes a deflection and dribbles over the line.
Harrogate 2-0 Skelmersdale
The TV cameras show Harrogate boss Simon Weaver, screaming at his players, thinking they've taken the foot off the gas since the restart. But Skelmersdale continue to shoot from long distance and keep failing to hit the target.
Harrogate 2-0 Skelmersdale
Joshua Peet now shoots well, well wide for the visitors. Joe Cracknell in the home goal is yet to be tested after 65 minutes.
Harrogate 2-0 Skelmersdale
Another waste from a free-kick for Skelmersdale. That's three times they've tried to shoot from long range, instead of sending the ball into a packed penalty area, and three times they've shot harmlessly and wastefully over the top.
