    Ashmore signed schoolboy forms with Portsmouth and played in a team that included Joel Ward, now at Crystal Palace, and Newcastle United's Matt Ritchie.

    He has been talking to BBC Sport about his experiences as a black child growing up in Portsmouth in the 1990s.

    Ashmore has been chased by someone wielding a scaffolding pole, attacked on the pitch by a fan and beaten up in the street.

    Boreham Wood are looking to reach the third round for the first time in their history.

    The Hertfordshire side play three tiers above Canvey in the National League, where they sit in 16th spot.

    They beat League Two Southend United in a penalty shootout in the first round - and one of their heroes was goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore.

    Having entered at the preliminary round stage, this is the Essex club's SEVENTH tie in this season's competition.
