Victory for Bristol City tonight would see them go level on points with second-placed Bournemouth.

It's been a terrific start to the season for Dean Holden's men, who have won their past three matches.

Opponents Watford were one of the pre-season promotion favourites following relegation from the Premier League.

The Hornets have confirmed that three unnamed players are unavailable after testing positive for Covid-19.

  7. Royals looking to stop the rotpublished at 18:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    Millwall v Reading (19:00 GMT)

    ReadingImage source, Rex Features

Reading's season so far can be broken into two neat chunks.

The first eight games they won seven and drew one and conceded just one goal.

However, they subsequently lost their following four matches, conceding 15 goals in the process, and have slipped from clear in first to sixth in the table.

Veljko Paunovic will be hoping for a reaction from his side this evening when they take on a Millwall side who are also without a win in four, though they have drawn three of those.

Norwich and Bournemouth firmed up their positions at the top of the Championship with victories on Tuesday night.

The league-leading Canaries raced into a 3-0 lead at Stoke before eventually hanging on to record a 3-2 success, while progress was a touch more serene for the Cherries who eased to a 2-0 home victory over struggling Nottingham Forest.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Brentford won 1-0 at in-form Barnsley and Blackburn thumped 10-man Lancashire rivals Preston 3-0.

In League One, leaders Hull City trounced fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich 3-0 and struggling Shrewsbury blew a 2-0 lead to draw at MK Dons. The Shropshire side sacked Sam Ricketts on Wednesday morning.

The top three teams all drew in League Two, with the result of the night coming at St James Park where Exeter thrashed Colchester United 6-1.

    Middlesbrough v Derby (19:00 GMT)

    MiddlesbroughImage source, Rex Features

It's been a heck of a start to the season for Derby.

They're in the midst of a takeover, have sacked their boss Phillip Cocu and replaced him (on an interim basis at least) with a management team including England's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney, and, 12 games into the season, they've won one match.

The Rams visit Middlesbrough this evening in desperate need of points to kickstart their flagging campaign.

That's one of five games we've got for you from the Championship today with teams with concerns at both ends of the table.
