    Barnsley 0-3 Bournemouth

Barnsley are desperate for a way back into this and Callum Brittain strikes a low effort from long range that Asmir Begovic does well to field on a difficult pitch.

    I said it wasn't a clever move!

Diego Rico smashes a superb free-kick in past Jack Walton at his near post.

I think everyone was expecting a cross from the way Bournemouth had brought players forward but the Spaniard fooled everyone.

It was such a cheap free-kick to have conceded by the hosts as well and they have been well and truly punished.

  3. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Barnsley 0-2 Bournemouth

Barnsley defender Mads Andersen shoves Sam Surridge over as he looks to chase down a ball through the middle.

    Not a very clever move.

  4. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Barnsley 0-2 Bournemouth

Bit of concern for Barnsley defender Michael Sollbauer who just got inadvertently caught on the ankle by Sam Surridge.

Bit of treatment and I think he's going to try and carry on.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Barnsley 0-2 Bournemouth

No changes and we are back under way.

It looks like the rain has eased off, so that's a definite plus for the players.

Barnsley were out on to the pitch for a couple of minutes before Bournemouth. Can only assume the Cherries players were taking advantage of every possible second they could stay inside.

What does Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael say to his troops at half time?

His side have looked bright at times but that second Bournemouth goal has given them a mountain to climb.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2020

Philip Billing scoresImage source, Getty Images

Bournemouth look like they'll be ending the day top of the Championship.

They've been made to work hard for it in tough conditions but goals from Philip Billing and Dominic Solanke have them in total control in South Yorkshire.

    Dominic Solanke (45+2 mins)

    Bang on half-time!

Totally against the run of play Lewis Cook nicks the ball off Cauley Woodrow on the halfway line and sets Dominic Solanke free.

The England international shows his class and composure to rifle a shot in at Jack Walton's near post.

We're into two minutes of time added on.

  10. Postpublished at .43 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

I know I've mentioned it's raining heavily but it's raining REALLY heavily.

The hosts have certainly adapted better as the conditions have worsened and captain Alex Mowatt slashes an effort from 25 yards high and wide.

  11. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

    So close to a leveller!

Barnsley play a quick free-kick and this time Conor Chaplin's square ball across goal is just right.

Michal Helik keeps it in at the back post and it hits team-mate Mads Andersen just in front of goal and goes out for a goalkick.

The big Dane just couldn't adjust his feet in time. Big chance.

  12. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

    More good stuff from Barnsley.

Alex Mowatt plays Conor Chaplin in with a cute reverse pass into the area but his square ball is in front of everyone and Bournemouth clear their lines again.

  13. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

Barnsley nearly create a great opportunity in the Bournemouth area after pinching the ball back high up.

Alex Mowatt's pass into Victor Adeboyejo wasn't quite into his path and the chance is gone.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 33 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

Barnsley striker Cauley Woodrow is booked for a cynical trip on Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook a couple of minutes ago.

Well remembered by referee Keith Stroud.

Though I doubt Woodrow sees it like that.

  15. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

Just got a little bit scruffy in the last few minutes in pretty trying conditions.

    It's raining horizontally just now.

  16. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

Chris Mepham gets himself in a right muddle but gets away with it.

Under pressure from Victor Adeboyejo he tries to head the ball back to keeper Asmir Begovic but somehow heads it straight into the ground where he manages to control it and spin away from danger and pass the ball out.

    Not quite what he intended!

  17. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

Callum Styles wins a free-kick for the hosts just on the edge of the Bournemouth area for a little pull by Adam Smith.

Former Liverpool man Herbie Kane is the man to take it... And he probably wont get the next one.

That's a good 10 yards over the bar.

  18. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Barnsley 0-1 Bournemouth

    Better from the hosts.

They win the ball back 40 yards from goal and launch a quick attack.

It comes to nothing but that's their first time at that end of the pitch for a little while.

Bit of a stoppage here as Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham requires some treatment after being caught by Victor Adeboyejo.

Should be ok to carry on.

Has a strange kick-off time ever caught you out?

Taylor's Tap In: In the 90s, I remember (former West Brom player) Fabian DeFreitas missing a match because he thought it was an evening kick off.

If you're a fan with a busy life you have an excuse. If you're an actual player, less so!
