  2. 'It's never a free-kick' - McInnespublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    FT: Hamilton Academical 1-1 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportsound: "We were very good first half, I thought we controlled the game and we deservedly went in front, but we spoke at half time that we didn't want to give Hamilton any encouragement.

"I don't think it's a free-kick that leads to the goal, it's never a free-kick. I do feel we are a touch too high, but we've got to trust the officials, I think Ogkmpoe's half a yard offside. I've not seen it from a better angle.

"Hamilton showed real spirit and they could've got more, Joe Lewis pulled off a brilliant save with the last kick of the ball.

"There was positive performances but the biggest disappointment is we haven't taken all three points."

It was a very impressive second half performance from Hamilton, considering how poor they were first half. They really upped the tempo, whereas Aberdeen struggled to find the quality they had in the first half.

  4. Rice 'delighted' with Acciespublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    FT: Hamilton Academical 1-1 Aberdeen

Hamilton Accies head coach Brian Rice has just been speaking on BBC Sportsound, and he's very pleased with his team's display.

"I'm delighted, the lads gave it everything and I cannot ask for more than that," he says.

"They stuck to the gameplan and tried to win the game against a good team. They gave it everything.

"It's a great save from Joe Lewis at the end, a wee bit of luck and it flies in the top corner, but that will come. If we keep working as hard as we're doing, we keep doing the right things, we keep believing, and if we keep working from one another, things will change."

"The last two games have given me great confidence, I can see the confidence coming back to the players. It's imperative we try to stay in this league, we're going to keep working and keep getting better."

Brian Rice certainly got a reaction out his players. That second half was a little more like the Accies of old. They make up for quality with effort and desire. They dragged Aberdeen into a battle.

Not that it will be any great consolation to Derek McInnes, but that point does take them back above Hibernian and into third place in the Premiership table,

Hamilton are now three points adrift at the bottom of the table, though they have played two games more than St Mirren.

Brilliant from Moyo, and what a wonderful save from Lewis. That was going to nestle in that top corner.

At half-time, Hamilton looked like they would be lucky to even have a shot on goal.

By the end of the game, they will feel that they could have taken all three points.

Marios Ogkmpoe's header cancelled out Ryan Hedges' opener, and Joe Lewis produced a stunning save in additional time to stop David Moyo winning it for Brian Rice's side.
