What's really evident so far is when Accies have possession they have players flying forward. They've got to be careful.

It's a really bright start from Aberdeen. You get the feeling this Hamilton defence are going to have to defend crosses all night long.

It won't be easy for Aberdeen tonight, Hamilton are fighting at the bottom of the table. Brian Rice is right to stick with the same side. The performance against Dundee United [on Saturday] was improved, there's no doubt about that

  15. Accies 'under no illusions' - Ricepublished at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:00)

Hamilton Academical head coach Brian Rice tells BBC Sportsound: "We’re happy with how we did on Saturday, so these boys deserve another crack at it.

"Aberdeen have a few players missing through injuries and Covid situations, but we have some missing as well. David Templeton and Lewis Smith are massive loses for us.

"Confidence comes with getting result, we took a bit from Saturday with 95% of our performance, we are hoping we can take that to 100% tonight.

"We’re hopeful we can start putting pressure on the teams above us, but we're under no illusions how difficult this will be tonight."

  17. Aberdeen will miss absentees - McInnespublished at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:00)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is expecting his side to feel the absence of players such as Ross McCrorie, Lewis Ferguson and Connor McLennan, who are sidelined as a result of the Scotland under-21s Covid-19 outbreak, but says it's an opportunity for fringe players to impress.

"We have got obvious challenges at the minute. Arguably 5 of our best performers since the season started, McCrorie, Ferguson, Hayes, Wright, Watkins – you take 5 really key players out of any team I think that would maybe have an effect," he said.

"The good thing for me is I know we have got better players to come back, we have now given an opportunity to ones that have not played as much, it is a chance for them to show their capabilities."
