Newcastle United
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce speaking to BBC Sport: "I think if we're brutally honest we weren't that great. We have to perform better. We've had a difficult week so we'll take a point. Against 10 men we struggled to create anything, but we've had a difficult week and we'll dust ourselves down and get ready for Tuesday.
"We had every attacking player we had on the pitch but unfortunately our attacking threat wasn't there. The number of times we gave the ball away cheaply was the annoying thing.
"There's no doubt we've had a difficult period and I don't want to make that an excuse but we're having to make changes because of it. They're over their illness but its the state it's left them in. It's a bit of a concern but hopefully it leaves the players as quickly as it came. But it is difficult at the minute."
On Tuesday's EFL Cup quarter-final against Brentford: "We all look forward to that, it's been a long, long time [since the club has made a semi-final]. We'll have to play better than we did tonight - but what an opportunity."

More from Newcastle manager Steve Bruce to Sky Sports:
One eye on Carabao Cup quarter-final? "I make no excuses. We would love to be in a semi-final of a cup. That is upon us on Tuesday then we have an unbelievably tough run in the Premier Legaue but that is what it is. We have to be better and I am quietly confident that we will."
Concerns over coronavirus? "We have had the real kick in the teeth because unfortunately we have lost players again today through illness. It's the fatigue of the lads where they have recovered but are not 100%. That has been a concern but we don't really want to make excuses as we want to be better than we were today.
"Everybody needs the game of football to watch which is why we have four games today and again on Sunday. I hope not. Let's hope we can keep the show on the road. The Premier League have done fantastically well to keep things going but obviously it is a concern."

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce speaking to Sky Sports: "We got the penalty and when you look at it and analyse it I think the referee has made the right call. When I see the video back it looks like he clicked his heel. In that respect I think the decision is right but we have to look at our performance and we haven't done enough. We have to be better and certainly in the first half.
"We didn't give anything stupid away. Our defending the other night was naive so you expect us to learn from that but we struggled on the ball. We didn't really create enough. A difficult week but we take a point and move on.
"We can perform better than we saw tonight and that is always a concern. We can still improve on what we are doing. We didn't see enough tonight or the other night and that is disappointing. It's that inconsistency which is obviously a concern."

Fulham
Fulham manager Scott Parker speaking to BBC Sport: "'I'm very proud of my team, I thought we played exceptionally well today. We came here with a real purpose about us and could have gone in [at half-time] a couple of goals up. The sending of and penalty decision changed the dynamics of the game. In the end you roll your sleeves up and try and get the point, we did that and that's pleasing."
On Newcastle's penalty: "I've seen it on camera, the initial contact is outside the box and Callum Wilson goes down inside the box. the referee looks at the screen and I don't know what he's seen differently to what I've seen. What's puzzling is we're still making wrong decisions. I can accept a referee making a wrong decision but it puzzles me we're still making mistakes with all these replays. That's confusing to me.
On a possible penalty for his own side for handball: "I'm not sure. I've not seen that but it looked soft to be fair. We've seen them given so you never know.
"We're definitely making progress. It's a difficult place to come and second half we showed a side of us we haven't shown. We stayed solid and came out with a point."

"What's he (Scott Parker) not happy with?" asks Steve Bruce with a grin.
Well Brucey, where shall we start?

Fulham
More from Fulham boss Scott Parker to Sky Sports: "I'm disappointed with the outcome because all these technologies and gimmicks have been brought into the game to make the correct decisions and I don't think I'm being biased. I'm disappointed with that. I thought my players showed a different side."
What do you want to change? "Just the correct decisions! I don't know whether the angles are being shown... You slow it down... I just don't understand. Referees make mistakes, I totally get that. But we have this VAR and everything there and we are still making incorrect decisions and that's puzzling.
"[Leicester manager] Brendan Rodgers was standing here last week saying the same. That's what's wrong. I would rather stand here saying the referee has made a mistake but we have all this technology and we are still making the same mistakes. That's criminal!
"If a ball gets shot from outside the box and it hits a hand everyone claims a penalty. That's the way it is. We have to get used to it. At the moment, you have VAR, so you can't make mistakes. You have all the technology, all the slow motion and everything that comes with that so we have to make the correct decisions and that is what's puzzling.
"I like this team and I like the way we are going. We are staying in games and showing our quality. I felt we were a little naive at times earlier in the season. We have come out of a difficult run of fixtures and have picked up points. We need to keep with the same attitude and we will be okay."

Fulham
Fulham manager Scott Parker speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm disappointed we haven't taken three points but the team was fantastic. We created some good chances and played some good stuff. In the second half it's the penalty decision which has decided the game in that sense.
"The game has changed drastically hasn't it and I think we can see that. For what I have just seen - and I'm not standing here trying to defend it - the contact was made outside of the box and he then goes into the box and dives.
"I don't know whether he [the referee] is looking at the same angles I am... I just don't understand. The game has changed drastically and not for the better in my opinion. It's a bit of a mess to be honest.
"I have nothing but praise for my team. It's a difficult place to come and for 45 minutes we dominated the game. Then we get a man sent off and it's roll your sleeves up and try and get a point."

Leo Elbourne: Second week in a row that Fulham have been robbed of a win from bad refereeing.
Bad decisions continue to be made and that is "criminal".
This is superb from Scott Parker.
I think Scott Parker is the most southern person I've ever heard.
He goes further and further south the angrier he gets.

"VAR is brought in to make correct decisions," says Scott Parker who adds that Callum Wilson "dives".

Newcastle United
Newcastle striker Callum Wilson speaking to Sky Sports: "It's disappointing. We started the game well then let them in the game with a sloppy goal. Playing against 10 men is sometimes difficult, we just couldn't get that break for the goal.
"I thought it was a penalty. I had a job to do when they blew the whistle.
"I'm not one to make excuses. You get setbacks along the way in football so that's what a squad is for. We need as many [players back from injury] as possible going into this busy period.
"You can always do better and improve. I had a chance in the last game I should have put away. I will take eight goals going into the christmas period though.
"We have two top teams to play now so will have to be solid defensively and try get something from the game. You have to believe in yourself. Everyone can beat everyone in the league at the moment."

Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo speaking to Sky Sports: "I would take a point at an away ground like Newcastle's but disappointed we didn't take all three.
"The decision was against us but we just have to carry on with the game and I thought we did well.
"There was a turning point within the squad and the club. We are starting to look up now and challenge the other teams.
"It's great to be out of the bottom three but we will keep pushing as we want to be higher up in the table."

Andersen's red card is without doubt one of the worst decisions of the season. And there have been many a contender.
Dave, Dunblane
Some shocking decisions in that game. Seems the fouls are now given for theatrical merit.

Newcastle 1-1 Fulham
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has trotted on to the pitch to ask referee Graham Scott why it was not a penalty for handball by Ciaran Clark in injury-time.
Scott is motioning by raising his arm into the air. Not sure why he is doing that, Clark's arm wasn't up there.
Scott Parker is asking him the same question.

All over.
A good point for 10 man Fulham, a third straight draw enough to take them out of the relegation zone.
