    Alexandre Lacazette (Pen 35 mins)

A little stutter, a wait for the keeper to move and then Alexandre Lacazette slots into the back of the net.

    Arsenal lead!

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

VAR are checking this - there wasn't a massive amount of contact.

But enough. A penalty is confirmed. Alexandre Lacazette spots the ball.

  3. PENALTY TO ARSENALpublished at 18:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2020

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

It's silly from Reece James! Kieran Tierney nutmegs him wide on the left, Tierney gets the wrong side but there's still not too much to worry about.

James panics, lunges in from behind and a penalty is given.

Peter Collins: That play sums up Arsenal this season. Even when they do the right things (press high, transition quickly to get a great chance) they screw it up.

Ramesh Subramaniam: Ozil's stake is increasing after every Arsenal game.

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Good play from Tammy Abraham to nod the bouncing ball into his arc, he gets a shot away and Pablo Mari adjusts his position well to block it away for a corner.

  6. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

There's not a massive amount of difference between watching Fulham and Arsenal at the moment. I suppose they are only three places and four points apart after all.

They both have passages of play which look neat and tidy, they occasionally show glimpses of intent but you never really feel that a goal is incoming.

  7. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Big chance missed again! Chelsea get themselves in a right tangle at the back, Hector Bellerin drives into the area and picks out Emile Smith Rowe inside.

He's free about 10 yards out but on the stretch and he can't even make a proper connection with his shot at all. Chance gone.

Ashwin R: £72m Pepe on the bench, Ceballos on the bench, Ozil frozen out. Arteta is doing a good job at lowering expectations

Tambuwal: Wouldn't be surprise if Arsenal go down this season, only Gabriel Martinelli would get onto Liverpool or Manchester City bench.

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Decent cover from Pablo Mari now as well as Arsenal are caught out down the right, the first-time cross is good and Mari just about stabs it away from the waiting Tammy Abraham.

Kurt Zouma heads over from the corner.

  10. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Good defending Rob Holding! N'Golo Kante wins a tackle on halfway and it turns into a pass to free Timo Werner down the left.

Holding shows him down the outside, he takes that path and shoots with his left foot but Holding tracks it all the way and makes the block.

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Frank Lampard, arms folded, trudges up and down the sideline. His side started slowly but have had the better of the last 10 minutes or so.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Oh what a touch that is! Mateo Kovacic with a sort of Zidane flick over his shoulder to trigger a counter attack, he prods it away from Pablo Mari who absolutely smashes him to the deck.

A yellow card all day long. Even on a Sunday.

  13. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Oh that's well hit! Mason Mount bends the ball around the wall and it clips the very outside of the post!

Lovely effort, flighted over the wall and curled back in. Just not quite enough.

  14. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Christian Pulisic was electric in the cup final before he got injured and he runs Arsenal ragged once more. Granit Xhaka slides in and can only bring him down in a dangerous spot.

Mark Stockport: Re Ash Williams @17, external.32. Aubama has scored two goals all season. Surely as an Arsenal fan you would expect your manager to try something different.

Ben: Does anyone actually remember the last time Pulisic started on the left?

Luke: Far too many outdated comments about Arsenals defence. They have the 4th best defence in the league. That nearly fluke of a goal is what Arsenal need. They have lost several games to those this season be just to finally score one.

  16. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

It's all a bit tepid, no fans of course making for a continued bout of silence. Chelsea now seeing more of it, Christian Pulisic is able to get away from a man and find Timo Werner, but his backheel is cut out before it can reach Tammy Abraham. Better.

  17. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal continnue to dominate, Chelsea happy enough for their back three to have the ball though. Bit of a stand-off at the moment.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Almost a fluke of an opener as Kurt Zouma heads the clearance into the back of Alexandre Lacazette's head but it pops up into the hands of Edouard Mendy. Very promising from the hosts thus far.

  19. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal win another corner. They're giving Chelsea the runaround in the early stages.

  20. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

It continues to be a good start from Arsenal as they win a corner and then Gabriel Martinelli puts over a good ball from the left whick Kurt Zouma clears.
