You can see now that when the ball is bouncing, it is leaving puddles of water, splashing out from underneath the ball. It is unfortunate for Stockport because they had a great opportunity for a counter-attack - but the ball held up on the surface water and kind of ruined the attack for them.

It was a piercing run by Declan Rice. He picked the ball up and just burst his way through the Stockport midfield.

Rice tried to make things happen and that's exactly what has been lacking from a West Ham perspective. Someone who is willing to grab the game by the horns and take it to them. Show some passion.

For Alex Reid, a lone striker is a difficult role to play. You have to be in the right place at the right time. You have got to be as strong as possible because you are going to have not just one but two defenders marking you. You also have to be able to make those selfless runs.

Superb, surging run from Declan Rice, taking on his man and driving into the box, the ball pops up and maybe hits a blue arm but there's nothing doing from Mike Dean.

Ooooofff! Said Benrahma chases the ball down into the corner, goes to ground and then slides along on his back for a good 10 yards or so, tobogganing into the advertising boards. That could have been nasty.

It's the non-league side now who are looking a threat. they force a corner, play it short and scud a low ball into the middle which is swiped clear. Almost a sense of panic back there for West Ham.
