Chris: Newcastle United. Experts in playing for penalties for 120 minutes.

Mike: This game is so terrible its not even going to give us the fun of penalties. I can feel it

I don't think it'll be too long before we see Kieran Tierney with the captain's armband. He is that type, he is a leader.

    Arsenal 0-0 Newcastle

Andy Carroll rises high, but he's climbed up an Arsenal defender to get there.

A bit of relief for the Gunners.

  4. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-1 Middlesbroughpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2021

    Sam Folarin (49 mins)

Huge goal for substitute Sam Folarin, who came on for the injured Marcus Browne

right at the end of the first half.

Middlesbrough get away down the left, it's cut back into the box and Folarin is there unmarked to smash it home when it falls for him, a few yards out.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2021

    Huddersfield 2-2 Plymouth

    Ben Hamer to the rescue!

Plymouth open up the Huddersfield defence. It comes over to Ryan Hardie on the left side of the box and he fires it at goal.

Hamer tips it up and off the corner of the crossbar.

    Arsenal 0-0 Newcastle

Andy Carroll swivels on the edge of the Arsenal box and thunders a left-footed strike towards goal.

It's deflected behind but Matt Ritchie's low corner only finds the front post, where Jeff Hendrick nudges wide from a tricky angle.

Great pace from Kieran Tierney. He went past DeAndre Yedlin like he wasn't there!

    Brentford 1-0 Middlesbrough

Off we go again at Brentford. Any response from Middlesbrough?

  13. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Newcastle

Superb ball from Kieran Tierney, right on to the forehead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - every striker's dream. Aubameyang meets it but can only head straight into Ciaran Clark and Newcastle clear to safety.

    Huddersfield 2-2 Plymouth

There's a bit of last-ditch defending in the box by Plymouth before they try to release Ryan Hardie in space on the right.

The long ball is overcooked and it goes straight out for a throw-in.

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

Newcastle have been a really tough nut to crack for Arsenal - and they have offered a bit in the second half at the other end, too. I think Steve Bruce will be pretty pleased.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 80 mins

    Two changes for Newcastle.

DeAndre Yedlin and 18-year-old debutant Elliot Anderson come on for Joelinton and Miguel Almiron.

    Man Utd v Watford (20:00GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Nine changes for Manchester United this evening, with only goalkeeper Dean Henderson and midfielder Scott McTominay, who is named as captain, surviving from Wednesday's EFL Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester City.

It means a place on the bench for Bruno Fernandes, who is joined by former Watford striker Odion Ighalo, who could make a farewell appearance for United given his loan ends at the end of the month. Paul Pogba is not involved.

It's a first FA Cup tie for new Watford manager Xisco Munoz, who has presided over a win and a defeat in his two games in charge.

Joao Pedro returns from injury, whilst Philip Zinckernagel is given his debut following the Dane's arrival at Vicarage Road last week.

Man Utd XI: Henderson; Williams, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Telles; McTominay, Van de Beek, Lingard; Mata, James, Greenwood.

Subs: De Gea, Matic, Ighalo, Fred, Fernandes, Martial, Maguire, Wan Bissaka.

Watford XI: Bachmann; Navarro, Troost-Ekong, Sierralta, Masina; Chalobah, Hughes, Sarr, Zinckernagel; Pedro, Gray.

Subs: Foster, Ngakia, Wilmot, Sema, Dalby, Barrett, Hungbo, Crichlow, Phillips

    Huddersfield 2-2 Plymouth

Remember, no replays. So extra time and penalties will decide this if it stays a draw.

Surely another goal (at least) to come?

  19. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Newcastle

Emile Smith Rowe, socks round his ankles, can't muster an effort on target but he is taking up good positions. Andy Carroll has gone down in the Arsenal half and that will be worrying for Steve Bruce.
