Cardiff have been better so far in this half and are so close to an equaliser as Harry Wilson's free kick deflects off the wall and into the sidenetting.

    Everton 1-1 Rotherham

That finish epitomises the endeavour since Rotherham fell behind. He would not give up on it Matthew Olosunde. I'd say we have a cup tie on our hands but we have had one ever since Everton went one up.

    Yes Ryan, yes they can.

    Now then!

Well, you can't say this isn't deserved. The Millers have thrown everything at the Toffees since falling behind.

It is a neat finish too from Matthew Olosunde, who swivels in the box and guides his shot into the far bottom corner.

  7. Third-round classicspublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2021

    Everton 1-0 Rotherham

    Chris Latchem
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

I'm just looking at the back of the team sheet at Goodison Park and there is piece called 'third round-classics'. They are remembering a game from 1988, when Everton played Sheffield Wednesday...

They needed FOUR games to settle that tie! Three replays, two of them went to extra time and Everton eventually went through, winning the fourth game 5-0 away at Hillsborough and 38,000 fans watched that.

Elias: Covid-19 was around before Allardyce took the WBA job. He was well aware of the situation, and the potential risks. Yet he still took it. Unlike others, he has less right to complain.

Chris: If Allardyce was that concerned he'd make more of an effort to wear his mask properly. It's frustrating seeing him and other players/managers taking minimal precautions. Managers still shaking hands etc doesn't help. Football needs to do better.

Tahir: Lower league teams just want is to reach the 4th round, if they beat a youth team, so be it they aren't going to complain.

    Boreham Wood 0-1 Millwall

Boreham Wood goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore produces a great diving save to his left to keep Millwall out.

"That was crazy bro" one of his team-mates says to him.

That would have been a real blow for the hosts, who have really gone after an equaliser since the restart.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Cardiff

Cardiff were very wasteful with the few opportunities they had in the first half and they again disappoint in the final third as Leandro Bacuna's ball into the box is too close to Jordan Smith in the Nottingham Forest goal.

    Norwich 2-0 Coventry

A great chance for Maxime Biamou to pull a goal back for Coventry!

Ryan Giles finds Biamou in the box, but the Sky Blues forward is denied by a decent save from Daniel Barden.

    Boreham Wood 0-1 Millwall

A good start to the second half by Boreham Wood.

The hosts come flying out of the blocks and earn a corner. It's headed clear, but Wood are pushing on!

Kabongo Tshimanga goes down in the box and there are some claims for a penalty, which the referee ignores.

Everton start positively, in search of what would be a big second goal. Alex Iwobi finds space on the right side of the box but drags his shot wide.

    HT: Chorley 1-0 Derby County

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Chorley have played really well. They knew what their tactics were from the start and they have carried them out perfectly. By a long, long way the better team, the stronger team, the more confident team.

But...can they keep that level up for the entire 90 minutes? As space develops, we'll find out what these Derby kids can do.

Marine v Mourinho will be a huge moment for the eighth-tier Merseysiders.

“Being opposite Jose in the dugout is incredible for our football club,” Marine manager Neil Young said.

“To be able to manage against Jose is a real proud moment and bringing Tottenham here for the third round of the FA Cup is unbelievable.

"He is a world-class manager, his record and CV speaks for itself.”

With the tie being played behind closed doors, the club have sold virtual match tickets, which Young says is unfortunate for the biggest game in the club’s history.

“It is our biggest disappointment that we can't have any fans in,” he said. “We were very keen to have it here to get our fans in. It is a proud moment to show our little football club off.”

Chorley remain on course for the FA Cup fourth round, while Boreham Wood require a second half fightback to get past Millwall.

Tomorrow, though, will be a surreal day for fellow non-league side Marine.

Harry Cardwell has been a bundle of energy up front for Chorley but he's also got great link-up play with Connor Hall. Hall is almost playing like a double centre-forward. They have a great understanding these two. It's very old school and it works well.
