The difference you'll see between the players is the speed of thought. Before the Spurs even get it they will know what they want to do with it so it will be an uphill challenge for Marine.

    Marine v Tottenham (17:00 GMT)

The last time Marine made it to the first round proper of the FA Cup they lost 11-2 to Shrewsbury in November 1995.

They've made it two steps further this time.

Since 1900 the only team to have conceded more goals in an FA Cup tie was Crewe, who lost 13-2 against… Tottenham in a fourth-round replay in 1959-60 season. It remains Spurs’ record victory.

Since the draw was made Pritchards Bookshop in Crosby has reported a surge in demand for a book celebrating Marine's 125th anniversary, published in 2019

Would Marine knocking out Jose Mourinho's Tottenham be the biggest upset in FA Cup history? You'd have to think so...

The seaside town of Crosby hasn't enjoyed this much attention since Antony Gormley plonked 100 cast irons statues on the beach.

The hosts will hope that's not a metaphor for their defence this evening, as will the locals on Rossett Road who can watch the game from their bedroom windows.

It's the eight-time winners against the eighth-tier minnows, the biggest gulf at this stage of the competition's history.

Marine boss Neil Young: "We're OK, upbeat, obviously a massive task on our hands against a very good side. Tottenham Hotspur coming to our little ground here in Crosby, we're looking forward to it.

"It's more about how we defend. Their CV speaks for itself. We have to try our best as we have done in every round. Tottenham coming here is a dream come true. The players have to enjoy it but cannot stand on ceremony."
