GOAL - West Brom 0-4 Man Citypublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2021

    Riyad Mahrez (45 mins)

    It's four.

Manchester City are having a ball. They pop it around, waiting for an opening, before Raheem Sterling floats it out to Riyad Mahrez.

The winger stands Kieran Gibbs up, shifts the ball on to his left foot and then whips a lovely strike into the far corner.

    Just too good.

  4. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Southampton 1-2 Arsenal

Nicolas Pepe, on to Cedric Soares down the left... He wins a corner off Jan Bednarek.

  5. Postpublished at 43 mins

    West Brom 0-3 Man City

Think Ederson is bored. He comes rushing out of his box to make a header that Ruben Dias or John Stones probably felt they could deal with. West Brom will be happy to get to the break at 3-0 down right now.

  6. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Southampton 1-2 Arsenal

James Ward-Prowse's ball from the right is dealt with well by Hector Bellerin as Che Adams was lurking at the back post.

  7. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Southampton 1-2 Arsenal

Alexandre Lacazette lifts it over the top for Bukayo Saka to chase down the right. He's just sneaked offside though.

Matt Dawson: This could get messy for West Brom.

I've had a great start to the week. Have Gundogan as captain. The group chats are ringing with appreciation.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 42 mins

    Southampton 1-2 Arsenal

It's played through to Alexandre Lacazette in the box. He turns sharply and is about to shoot before he goes down under pressure from Jake Vokins.

Appeals for a penalty but Kevin Friend waves play on. There's a quick VAR check but nothing comes of it.

  10. Postpublished at 40 mins

    West Brom 0-3 Man City

Riyad Mahrez feeds Raheem Sterling and he scuttles across the box before being crowded out. Think Mahrez wanted it back there.

    West Brom 0-3 Man City

Ahh what a pass from Ilkay Gundogan. But why doesn't Joao Cancelo shoot?!

Gundogan just slices open the whole West Brom defence with a wonderful ball, but Cancelo looks to find Raheem Sterling when he was in on goal himself.

  12. goal

GOAL - Southampton 1-2 Arsenalpublished at 38 mins

    Bukayo Saka

    It's so simple!

Bernd Leno's goal kick is won in the air. It's played through from Alexandre Lacazette and he slips in Bukayo Saka.

Saka takes one touch to get around the keeper, maintains his balance then slots it into an empty net.

    Brilliant composure.

Stuart Armstrong does well down the left but he can't find a team-mate with his cross. It's out for a throw-in and Southampton go all the way back to Jack Stephens.

Rob Elmore: Arsenal back to their early season form. Knew it wouldn't last.

Stoney: I’m not sure that goal should have been allowed. WBA clearly stopped playing because of the offside flag. Good old VAR.

Martyn Bamford: My old PE teacher would be turning in his grave ! Play to the whistle was his favourite( if somewhat edited ) phrase.

City are swarming forward looking for a fourth. This could get messy for West Brom.

Phil Foden has a dig but the Baggies have bodies behind the ball. We're only 35 minutes in...

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Craig Dawson: "Defensively we were disappointed to concede two gaols but it was a good performance from everyone."

Asked how much credit goes to manager David Moyes: "He works us hard on the training pitch and everybody is enjoying working under him and we just need to keep this run going.

"We've got a difficult game coming up on the weekend and hopefully we can keep it going."

  19. 'We're not going to get ahead of ourselves'published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 2-3 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes, speaking to MOTD: "We knew we had to start well, Palace have got a really good record of scoring early and we were aware of it so it was disappointing that we didn't start well but to get a goal back was a big difference.

"We played very well and I thought that we had another gear in us if we needed.

"We passed it well but was a bit disappointed with the finishing but overall I'm pleased with how we played and the result.

"Michail Antonio should have come away with the match ball but he's won us games in recent weeks so I hope he's keeping his goals for other games, he plays a big part in the team."

Asked how satisfying it is to look at the table: "I've not looked at it since the game but obviously being near the top is what I want, I want to manage a team up at the top and have a club to try and keep those standards up.

"We're not going to get ahead of ourselves and say we're going to make the Champions League, we'll work as hard as we can."

Thought about taking a -4 point fantasy football hit to get Cancelo in. Decided against it in case WBA score. So of course he has a goal and assist already!
