GOAL - Real Valladolid 0-3 Barcelonapublished at 22:21 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2020

    Lionel Messi

    HISTORY.

Lionel Messi scores his 644th goal in all competitions for Barcelona - the most goals by a player for one club.

He moves clear of Pele's record of 643 and does it some style too. Pedri plays in Messi with a backheel, the Argentine wizard takes a touch to get clear of a home defender and then calmly slides the ball past Jordi Masip.

  13. YELLOW CARD - Jordi Alba (Barcelona)published at 63 mins

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

Ouch, that's a sore one. Valladolid's Pablo Hervias stoops low to head the ball and gets booted, accidentally, in the head by Jordi Alba.

The Barcelona man is in the book and will now miss the home game against Eibar on 29 December.

Hervias has to get some treatment to his cut face with some blood dripping down his face.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 59 mins

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

    Messi. No.

The ball is played to Frenkie de Jong in the penalty area and Messi is found with a pull-back in space 12 yards out. He side-foots it and it is heading into the bottom corner but an excellent save from Jordi Masip pushes it away for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  15. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

It's been much better from the home side in the second half and Ruben Alcaraz is given space to run at the Barcelona back line, but he then gets underneath the ball and sends his shot over the top from 20 yards out.

  16. 300 for Simeonepublished at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2020

    Real Sociedad 0-2 Atletico Madrid

Atletico's win earlier tonight brings up an impressive landmark of 300 wins for boss Diego Simeone.

  17. CLOSE!published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2020

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

Real Valladolid substitute Toni Villa wins a free-kick to the left side, outside of the penalty area. Pablo Hervias goes for goal from a tight angle and nearly catches out Marc-Andre Ter Stegen but the ball goes just wide.

  18. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

Some more lovely football from the visitors. Martin Braithwaite, Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba link up before the home defence scramble it clear at the near post

Moments later Jordi Alba slides in a cross from the left flank and Braithwaite sends it goalwards but puts it just wide.

  19. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

We are back under way. A lot of work for Real Valladolid to do and they've made a change with Toni Villa coming on for forward Marcos de Sousa.

Jota has a strike on goal from outside the box and, despite the ball bouncing in front of the Barcelona goalkeeper, it is comfortably dealt with by Marc-Andre Ter Stegen

  20. Postpublished at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2020

    Real Valladolid 0-2 Barcelona

Barcelona are winless in their last four away La Liga games (drew one, lost three), last going five without a win away from home in a single La Liga season in 2008 (P6 D2 L4) under Frank Rijkaard.

Barring a huge Valladolid fightback, that bad run on the road for Barca is ending today.
