“We were comfortable, they are obviously a good team but we proved how good we are today and we limited their chances.

“I believe we were the better team throughout the whole game and we deserved the win.

“It’s all on the strikers to score [in the shootout] and as a goalkeeper it’s great to save penalties. It’s a good feeling."

You're always critical of your own team but I've just had to listen to the loudest moans from Alan Shearer and Ian Wright for 45 minutes! They were nearly the first players to be escorted out of a ground during a game! Both very frustrated.

CM: I've never understood Newcastle fans getting on Steve Bruce's back. Mike Ashley, sure, but Steve Bruce does great things with limited resources. Players clearly work hard for him and that can only deliver a bit of soul back into their club.
