We've got 15 minutes left by my watch.

    Far too easy.

United right back Martha Harris drives forward into the box before teeing up substitute Hayley Ladd whose cross is inch-perfect for Katie Zelem.

And the United captain makes no mistake heading home from close range.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

And that's Elisha N'Dow's last contribution. The Villa defender is replaced by Caroline Siems.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

Great play from Kirsty Hanson who sprints forward down the left.

Villa's Elisha N'Dow slides in very late and takes out the midfielder.

    Yellow card. Easy decision.

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

Jackie Groenen is tying up her shoelaces while the game is going on.

United have been so comfortable in possession I guess their midfielders are comfortable doing that.

Sums up the hosts' dominance quite well actually.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

First changes for United. Lucy Staniforth is replaced by Hayley Ladd while Ivana Fuso comes on for Ella Toone.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:23 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

And out of nowhere it's very nearly three.

Kirsty Hanson's corner curls wickedly and glances the top of the crossbar.

Lucy Staniforth has a go on the follow-up but her shot is headed clear.

  8. Postpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

There's not a lot to tell you about to be honest folks.

United are keeping possession without testing Lisa Weiss in the Villa goal.

I guess that suits the hosts. They did all the hard work in the first half.

  9. Postpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

"Keep the ball, keep the ball," shouts Casey Stoney from the touchline.

It's pass after pass after pass for United.

  10. Postpublished at 13:16 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

Good defenisve player from Millie Turner who slides in to deny Villa forward Stine Larsen.

The Denmark international is feeding off scraps right now. The visitors are offering very little going forward.

  11. Postpublished at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

United's Ella Toone tries to play Jess Sigsworth through on goal but her pass just has a little too much on it.

The hosts are starting the second half like they finished the first.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

There was a double change for Aston Villa at the break by the way.

Emma Follis and Nadine Hanssen come on. Shania Hayles and Natalie Haigh come off.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa

Back under way in the North West.

Can Villa produce one of the shocks of the season by turning this one around in the second half?

  14. Postpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Players are coming out of the tunnel.

The second half is moments away.

  15. Winner safe as Spurs visit Brighton?published at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

    Brighton v Tottenham (14:00 GMT)

Brighton and Tottenham are nine and six points clear of the solitary Women's Super League relegation spot ahead of their meeting on the south coast today.

Surely a win for either would put them safe with just a few games remaining.

Brighton have shown their capabilities this season by shockingly ending leaders Chelsea's 33-match unbeaten run.

But Spurs, in eighth, have two games in hand on their seventh-placed hosts and would fancy their chances of finishing above them with victory today.

  16. Can Blues get one over Gunners?published at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Birmingham City v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

Birmingham City and Arsenal have enjoyed a number of battles over the years, both being very much at the forefront of the women's domestic game this century.

But it's Arsenal who have the upper hand recently - the Gunners have won the past five meetings between the sides.

The smart money would be on them making that six today in a game that has been switched to St George's Park from Blues' regular home of Solihull Moors.

Arsenal won 4-0 at Aston Villa last time out, while Birmingham lost by the same scoreline at home to Manchester City.

  17. Man City's hold over Toffeespublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021

Man City v Everton (14:00 GMT)

I think Everton must be sick of the sight of Manchester City by now.

Three matches since October, all wins for City and all finishing 3-1.

But can the Toffees avenge that run which included their FA Cup final loss in November with a victory against the title-chasers today?

A win would put fifth-placed Everton just a point behind Arsenal.

City could return to the top with three points - although a stay there might only be brief with Chelsea kicking off an hour later.

Of course, we have four more Women's Super League games to come this afternoon, including three 14:00 GMT kick-offs.

Let's take advantage of the half-time break at Leigh Sports Village by running you through those...

  20. INJURY TIMEpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2021
