Aston Villa are one of several clubs attempting to avoid the solitary relegation spot currently occupied by Bristol City.

A win at Manchester United in the early kick-off could move Villa as high as eighth depending on results elsewhere.

Later, Brighton meet Tottenham with a win for either surely pushing them safe, while West Ham and Birmingham face daunting games against Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.

Botton side Bristol City face Reading on Monday.

Manchester United v Aston Villa (12:00 GMT)

It's a big day (aren't they all?) at the top of the Women's Super League table as title chasers Chelsea and Manchester City take on West Ham and Everton later this afternoon.

The table would indicate City's test is the tougher one against an improved Everton side lying fifth.

However, our early kick-off involves third-placed Manchester United who are six points behind the leaders but six points above Arsenal in the race for the important third Champions League qualification spot.

They both face Second City sides today - United hosting Aston Villa in a few moments before Arsenal visit Birmingham City later on.

It was all going so well. Casey Stoney's side were level on points with Chelsea at the top of the table at the start of February having just beaten a very strong Everton team 2-0.

But defeat at home to Reading, followed by a 3-0 loss in the Manchester derby has seen the Red Devils slip to third, six points off the top.

And now Villa, four points clear of the relegation zone, will be hoping to catch United on another off day and make it three consecutive defeats.

    Can David shock Goliath?

Morning all! After some midweek Champions League action it's time for our first WSL fixtures of the new month.

It's also a reminder that just seven games remain before the end of the season for most of our clubs.

Time for a late push up the table, or will your side continue to slide south?
