Leicester City match-winner Youri Tielemans to BBC One: "It feels really good, it’s amazing, I’m really glad to score the goal to help the team to win the game.

"It was a really tight game and to score in the final but what a goal that was! So I’m really happy for the team and for the fans.

"Today I got a text message saying I had to aim for the top corner. I did it and I’m really happy!

"It was really special to have the fans in today, I hope everyone was safe. The fans watching from home too, they have supported us all the year through. I hope they are proud of us and I’m sure they are."

Brendan Rodgers, not long after starting his BBC interview by whistling and waving to ex-Leicester City midfielder Andy King in the stands, sums up exactly what was so special about the winning goal.

"I said to the guys it is like an old school FA Cup-winning goal," he said.

Exactly right, like Ronnie Radford's rocket it is the sort of goal that will be referred to when the FA Cup is being talked about in 20-30 years' time.

I've just seen the chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha joining in the celebrations, Kasper Schmeichel dragged him down. The players are standing around and applauding him. He bows to the Leicester plays.

He was handed the FA Cup and the players gathered all around and applauded him. That is a great moment in the recent history of Leicester City.

The thing with the VAR call is we've seen it all season. It's so tight and it's very tough to take.

Indescribable, it's what dreams are made of, I've dreamt about this since I was child, we have talked about wanting to win trophies. The performance today, the grit and determination, I'm so proud of everybody, everybody contributed to get to the final everyone has played and been sensational. Everyone behind the scenes, all the team behind the team, medical staff and everyone. That's why when you work together and do things properly and you have an internal belief that's what we can achieve."

Was it for the owners? "Exactly that, we have a picture on the inside of our shirts so he's always with us. This is what we've dreamt of and talked about for so long."

On the goal: "Youri Tielemans, wow what a finish. I didn't dare to celebrate because of VAR but wow.

"Today is an amazing day, a great day we will enjoy it thoroughly, but we are training tomorrow we play them on Tuesday again in another massive game. Today we enjoy it but we can't for too long because they are a top class side and they will want revenge."

It's a little bit of patience that Brendan Rodgers has shown with his younger players and the senior players got on board with what he wanted.

Jonny Evans, what a very good player he has been, Vardy and Ihenacho have been outstanding and Tielemans and Ndidi, have been part of that defensive midfield that works.

Leicester have got it right and Brendan Rodgers has got it right. I don't think this is a one-off, I think they will be in this situation quite a few times.
