    Rotherham 0-0 Reading

No early goals in this one but it's the hosts who have had the better of the opening exchanges.

    Blackburn 0-0 Coventry

Mark Robins' side have had the better of the chances so far.

Sam McCallum's opening effort for Coventry was followed up with another in the sixth minute, when the left-back's shot was dragged wide from the edge of the area.

Tyler Walker tried his luck too, knocking the ball into the path of Jordan Shipley who fired a half-volley over the bar.

Goalless so far at Ewood Park.

    Brentford 0-1 Stoke

Promotion-chasing Brentford have Ivan Toney back for this game, and they need him after that early set-back.

The striker is the Championship's top scorer with 24 goals, five strikes more than Blackburn's Adam Armstrong.

Toney has eight goals in his past seven appearances.

The Bees have it all to do after that early David Raya error gifted Stoke the opener.

And there is a fast start at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The wing-back cuts the back to Jacob Brown, who turns home.

Just 27 seconds were on the clock.

Barnsley have been on a roll recently, reeling off four straight wins to move a point off the top six. The Tykes face a Millwall side who are unbeaten in nine and have drawn a staggering 16 league games this season.

Blackburn, meanwhile, are a rotten run - losing their past five. Rovers have slipped to 15th and entertain Coventry City.

The Sky Blues are five points above the drop zone with just one win in seven.

Huddersfield Town are glancing over their shoulders slightly as seven defeats in 10 has seen them drop to 17th.

The Terriers go to a Preston side who have one victory in their past seven outings.

    Birmingham v QPR (15:00 GMT)

    Aitor KarankaImage source, Rex Features

Birmingham moved out of the bottom three with victory at Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, but the Blues aren't out of the woods yet.

Defeat against Norwich in midweek has left Aitor Karanka's side two points above the relegation zone and with one win in eight.

Today marks 10 years since Blues' greatest modern triumph when they stunned Arsenal at Wembley to lift the League Cup and if you'd like to read more about that then you can by clicking here.

Opponents QPR have climbed away from danger with a run of six wins in eight.

A run of four straight victories came to an end with a goalless draw at Preston on Wednesday.

Two out-of-sorts team meet at the New York Stadium in need of points for very different reasons.

Rotherham have lost their past four games and start the day two points adrift of safety.

Reading have spent the whole season in the top six but four defeats in their past five games mean that a reverse today could see them drop out of the play-off spots.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes has scored just three goals in 23 appearances this season and has been dropped to the bench today

Sheffield Wednesday caretaker Neil Thompson won five of his first seven games in charge to lead the club out of the Championship relegation zone.

However, a run of three straight defeats, including a home loss to fellow strugglers Birmingham, means they start today's game three points adrift of safety.

With time running out the Owls can ill afford to let the gap get any bigger.

They travel to a Luton side who are also without a win in three but still have a nine point buffer to the bottom three.

  17. Pearson leads Robins for Swans challengepublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

Swansea v Bristol City (15:00 GMT)

    Nigel PearsonImage source, rex

Nigel Pearson watched on from the stands as his new charges Bristol City ended their six-match losing streak at Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

The former Leicester, Derby and Watford boss will be looking to lead the Robins into the play-offs after joining on a deal until the end of the season.

But the 57-year-old has a tricky opponent for his first game in the dugout.

Promotion-chasing Swansea started the day a point off the top two, with two games in hand on the three teams above them.

The Swans have won four of their past five in the league and have only suffered one Championship defeat at home this season, which came against Huddersfield in October.

    Middlesbrough v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

    Media caption,

'I'm cool with my age and my big nose'

It's fair to say that the managers of these two play-off chasing clubs have been around the block a few times.

To be exact, this will be Boro boss Neil Warnock's 1,568th in English league and Cup football while Cardiff counterpart Mick McCarthy will be leading a side in English domestic football for just the 912th time.

McCarthy has overseen a tremendous turnaround in fortunes since taking over the Bluebirds in January and is chasing a seventh consecutive win.

The former Republic of Ireland boss, who was a team-mate of Warnock's at Barnsley in the 1970s, had some fairly forthright things to say about the value of experience last week.

  20. Bees aiming to catch Canariespublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

    Brentford v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

    BrentfordImage source, Rex Features

Brentford ended their mid-February blues with a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

A run of three straight defeats against Barnsley, QPR and Coventry meant the Bees' 21-match unbeaten run dramatically ground to a halt.

Win this afternoon and Thomas Frank's men will be four points behind leaders Norwich, who travel to Wycombe tomorrow.

Visitors Stoke are trying to get their play-off bid back on track and have won two of their past three.

A nine-match winless run which included six draws had checked the momentum of Michael O'Neill's side.
