  1. Bye!published at 22:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

That's all from me tonight. We're back tomorrow for FA Cup fifth round action as Burnley host Bournemouth (17:30 GMT), before Manchester United take on West Ham (19:30 GMT).

Make sure you check out the match report from tonight's game.

Bayern Munich progressed to the Fifa Club World Cup final by beating Al Ahly in Qatar thanks to two goals from Robert Lewandowski. You can read the match report and watch highlights here.

And elsewhere, Luis Suarez scored twice but it was not enough to earn victory for La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid as they were held to a draw by Celta Vigo.

    See you tomorrow!

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

Tonight's result means Leeds have 32 points after 22 matches (W10-D2-L10), only one short of their final total in their most recent Premier League season: 33 in 2003/04 (W8-D9-L21).

  3. 'We lost to the better team'published at 22:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to Sky Sports: "We started both halves badly in terms of the goals we conceded. Both were pretty poor technical errors. You can't afford to go 1-0 down after three or four minutes and then 2-0 down after 50 minutes and come away with a result unless you play outstanding football but we didn't play outstanding football unfortunately.

"The bottom line for me is we didn't pass the ball anywhere near well enough and we have to accept that we lost to the better team.

"We were not able to pressurise them like they pressurised us. We are a passing team and when we don't pass the ball well we fall below our standards."

"We lost the game to a better team," Roy Hodgson tells Sky Sports.

  5. 'We made a lot of mistakes'published at 22:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell speaking to BBC: "They made minimal mistakes. We made quite a lot. We don't usually make that many and I think that was the difference."

On the first goal: "Any time it takes a deflection, it makes it hard for the keeper. It was early in the game.

"We had a strong enough team on the pitch and on the bench so it was just a disappointing performance."

On missing Wilfried Zaha: "Of course. He is a big player and one of our best. But we have good enough players to step in when he is not there."

  6. 'Our passing wasn't good enough'published at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC: "Everything depends upon the opposition as well and we met a good team. I'm disappointed in the way we started each half. It is of course going to put you on the backfoot against any team, not least one of Leeds' quality.

"It's what you don't want. You try to encourage your players not to make mistakes in those moments to give your opposition a head start if you like. I don't think we created enough to get back into the game and we had to work really hard to make sure they didn't score more goals.

"I didn't think our passing was as good today. The pitch was difficult for both teams which doesn't help when you're the team chasing the game and trying to get back into it. They are maybe more used to it. It's not the reason we lost the game but it may have affected the way we were able to pass the ball which I didn't think we did well enough."

On Jean-Philippe Mateta's debut: "I'm glad he has got those minutes under his belt and I'm sure he'll profit having had the chance to play."

Are injured players close to returning? "Not very close unfortunately. Players with the quality of James Tomkins, Jeffrey Schlupp, Wilfried Zaha, Joel Ward and James McArthur... We were very limited on the bench. It still didn't stop us choosing what I thought was a very competitive team. We still played worse than our opponents today."

  7. 'Consistency important'published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, speaking to Sky Sports: "Not having conceded is important. We didn't commit any errors that would facilitate their attack. Our offence game was good enough to get the two goals and we could have scored some more.

"Scoring at the beginning of the game is always important. We maintained our offensive conduct throughout the game.

"The most important thing is to show consistency. To have a period of the season where we have consistent results.

"The pitch is much better than it was previously. There are a couple of games now were they are adapting to the characteristics of the pitch. In the last game we slipped many times but in this one not as much."

  8. Postpublished at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

Marcelo Bielsa emphasises the need for consistency again in his post-match interview with Sky Sports when asked about looking higher up the table.

  9. 'Too early to look at table'published at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa speaking to BBC: "It was a deserved triumph. We could have scored a few more goals. We defended well and conceded very few chances.

"The performance of the team was even and constant. It was an objective for today [to keep a clean sheet]. It was very important we didn't concede a goal today."

On Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford [reaching 200 appearances and scoring 100 career goals]: "They are players who shine, who are influential and are very generous to add to the collective game."

Are you looking at Europa League places? "It's too early. Right now we don't have the consistency to imagine any higher up the table."

  10. '100 goals is overdue'published at 22:07 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Leeds United

Leeds goalscorer Patrick Bamford, speaking to Sky Sports: "The most important thing is getting the three points but it is nice to get to 100 career goals. It is probably long overdue but nice to get there. It is important to make your home ground like a fortress. It is kind of difficult with our pitch at the moment and we almost suit playing away but this was well deserved.

"Non stop running is first and foremost. You have to give 100%. The first job as a striker is to defend. You have to apply the pressure. Also costly mixing it up. It is physically demanding, I am not going to lie but it has developed me into a much stronger person and player.

"It is good if you are getting talked about I guess but there are four or five strikers who have not really been involved with England before and they are doing well. It will be interesting to see who does get called up and whoever does will fully deserve it.

"After being out of the league for 16 years it is important for a club like Leeds to get a footing and build from that. This is no more than we've deserved. It bodes well for the future of Leeds.

"I captained myself (in Fantasy Football). After I missed that one in the first half I was kicking myself so I am glad I scored."

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Leeds United

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper speaking to BBC: "We talked about getting a home win and a clean sheet and we managed to do that. We took our chances. Proud of the boys. We look to improve every single day so tonight is a good night.

"[Patrick Bamford] is flying. We see it every day in training. He works so hard for the team, he gives us a focal point and hopefully he can continue to do what he is doing as he has been unbelievable for us.

"We pride ourselves on working hard so hopefully we can continue to do that. I said last week we want to finish as high as we can.

"We are under no illusions about how difficult the league is. What will be will be at the end of the season."

  13. 'We want to keep pushing ourselves'published at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Leeds United

Leeds' Jack Harrison, speaking to Sky Sports: "We knew it was going to be a tough game but we prepared all week and came out strong. The early goal helped us to play our style of football and keep possession."

Looking up the table now? "Definitely. As a team we are very ambitious. We want to keep pushing ourselves.

"Raphinha is a fantastic player, you see his quality and skill every time he steps on the pitch. Hopefully he can keep it up for us."

  14. 'Leeds were stronger, fitter and had more desire'published at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was so, so comfortable for Leeds. They saw the game through extremely well. They were stronger, fitter and had more desire. Palace were well off the pace tonight and that will be a sore one for Roy Hodgson to take. His players didn't give him everything tonight and that would be a worry.
