    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Lucy Bronze flicks it around Marissa Callaghan and lays it off to Rachel Daly on the right, who wins a corner.

It's floated in towards Jill Scott but she's stretching as she nods it harmlessly over.

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

As you can probably tell, it's that windy the camera is wobbling. England are keeping the ball on the ground as much as they can.

  3. Postpublished at 15 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Good defending from Northern Ireland as they squeeze the space away on the left for England.

Lucy Bronze is barking orders on the far side.

  4. Postpublished at 13 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Rachel Daly has a go from long range but she slips as the ball pops up and it's way over the bar.

  5. Postpublished at 11 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Really nice stuff from England. It's moved over from left to right before Rachel Daly flicks it on first time to Lucy Bronze.

She cuts it back into the middle but Julie Nelson makes a decent interception with Ellen White lurking behind.

Great delivery from the cross - power and pace but Becky Flaherty once again does brilliantly. Lucy Bronze needed something either side of the keeper but that shows that Flaherty is a good shot stopper.

  7. CLOSE!published at 9 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Abbie Magee comes sliding in late on Lauren Hemp and England win a free-kick on the left.

It's whipped in towards Lucy Bronze, who gets a strong head on it, but again Becky Flaherty is sharp and makes a decent save from close range.

I said Becky Flaherty might not have been match sharp because she hasn't played as much lately but she does brilliantly to come off her line so quickly and as soon as Ellen White takes that extra touch, she was on there. Absolutely fantastic from the goalkeeper.

  9. CLOSE!published at 6 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Ellen White is played in by Jill Scott but goalkeeper Becky Flaherty is sharp off her line to close her down and makes the block.

The rebound comes out to Jordan Nobbs but she ends up shooting it straight into White on the floor. Chance!

Liam: Poor camera man trying to keep it steady in that wind.

Francesca Gunn: How windy is it? Even the camera can’t stay still... wobbly wobbly wobbly.

  11. Postpublished at 4 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Lucy Bronze lifts a ball into the box for Ellen White but she can't get underneath it and nods it harmlessly wide.

White is appealing for a push but the referee is having none of it.

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Kenny Shiels has certainly got a blend of youth and experience in this Northern Ireland side and it'll be those experienced players who can help the younger ones develop and come through.

  13. Postpublished at 2 mins

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

In fact, Jill Scott puts in about three tackles in the opening two minutes as England get off to a good start.

There's a shot blocked on the edge of the box before Lucy Bronze attempts a backheel on the right which doesn't come off.

  14. Postpublished at 1 min

    England 0-0 Northern Ireland

Very windy at St George's Park today. It's Northern Ireland who kick us off but Jill Scott gets a toe-in to intercept a pass to Rachel Furness in the middle.

  17. 'Jill Scott deserves every accolade'published at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

What an achievement for Jill Scott and thoroughly deserved. She's underrated player in my opinion. When you play alongside her, you realise just how important she is to the side.

When you have played at the highest level for as long as Jill has - she's won everything - she deserves every accolade that is coming her way.

  18. 'We to play an attacking style'published at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

England interim boss Hege Riise to BBC Sport: "We want to play an attacking style. We have been working on that in training, try to force them backwards and creating chances.

"We want to take on a good performance and also to get a result. Also how we deal with Northern Ireland and of course, when we step on the field, we always want to win."

On Jill Scott winning her 150th cap for England: "It's a great achievement. Just to keep pushing yourself every year and keeping the standard high. It's fantastic."

  19. Williams says kidney condition 'broke her'published at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

England v Northern Ireland (12:30 GMT)

England's most-capped player Fara Williams has told BBC Sport that the kidney condition that has affected her fitness for almost a year "broke her".

The 37-year-old, who won 172 caps, revealed earlier this week that she had been diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome.

The steroids required to treat the condition led to weight gain and other side effects.

And the Reading and England midfielder said that recovery took a toll both physically and mentally.

  20. 'We want to show everyone'published at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2021

England v Northern Ireland (12:30 GMT)

Steph Houghton says she "can't wait to put on the England shirt again" after the frustration of not contesting an international fixture in almost 12 months.

The Lionesses have not played since a 1-0 loss to Spain in March last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Captain Houghton says the side are keen to get "back into the rhythm of playing again" at St George's Park.

"We are excited. We just can't wait to put on the England shirt again. You get picked in the squad and ultimately you want to get as many caps as you can.

"We want to show everyone what team we are and the individuals that we have got."
