He has found the net a few times recently for new club Kilmarnock, and has the captain's armband tonight.

But Kyle Lafferty has been without an international goal since 2016 and that was a great chance to end that bleak run.

Clean through on goal after a clever George Saville pass, it never felt like he was going to score as he ended up dragging his shot well wide.

He'll keep working hard as he always does but he may not get another chance as good as that tonight.

I've got to say these international triple-headers with a friendly seem a bit much with the congested fixture schedule this season.

Oh this was the chance for Kyle Laffetty to finish his long international scoring drought. George Saville plays Lafferty in, unmarked from the halfway line. He charges in and then drags his shot well wide.

Great defending by Daniel Ballard. Sergino Dest feeds Christian Pulisic but Ballard holds him off in the box to stop him shooting.

Almost a chance for the USA. Jordan Siebatcheu, who plays for Young Boys in Switzerland, backheels the ball into the path of Christian Pulisic but he can't find his captain.

Kyle Lafferty just hammers the free-kick into the wall. A waste.

It's no surprise we made 10 changes but one surprise was the exclusion of Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal. He is rusty and didn't have the best of games against Italy. In saying that, it is good to see Conor Hazard to get a start. If he has a good game today then what do you do against Bulgaria on Wednesday?

Northern Ireland win a free-kick in a great shooting position. Kyle Lafferty can't get a shot away in the box and Corry Evans is hacked outside it. Lafferty shot the loose ball wide but it's been called back.

A nice USA move as Christian Pulisic feeds Antonee Robinson down the left. He flashes a lovely ball across the six-yard box but nobody is there to tap home.

We mentioned before kick-off about the flexibility in the Northern Ireland side in terms of the shape they line up in.

Looks like it is 3-5-2, as it was in Parma on Thursday night, with Conor McLaughlin in the middle of a back three with Dan Ballard and Ciaron Brown.

Shane Ferguson and Matty Kennedy are working the flanks with Corry Evans, Jordan Thompson and George Saville in midfield.

Just past the five-minute mark and USA are dominating possession right now. Sergino Dest is causing problems on the right and Corry Evans does well to stop a US chance.

Northern Ireland had a bright start with a long throw-in causing problems but USA are starting to show some quality.
