Irish FA President David Martin believes the Uefa Super Cup will be one of the biggest matches played in Northern Ireland in recent history.

It was confirmed on Thursday that the game between Chelsea and Villarreal, Champions League and Europa League winners respectively, will be played at Windsor Park as planned on 11 August.

Uefa considered moving the game to Istanbul as a compensation measure after the Champions League final was switched from the Turkish city to Porto because of coronavirus restrictions.

Details on attendance and ticketing arrangements for the game are still to be finalised, but Martin is hopeful that a "big, big crowd" can be at the National Stadium.

Party time!

Of course, Northern Ireland's most recent night of glory came against Ukraine when Kenny Shiels' side reached the Women's Euro 2022 finals next summer with a 2-0 win in Belfast in April.

Tonight's game doesn't quite carry the same gravitas, but you would have my upmost respect if you celebrated winning a friendly in the same manner.

They've been fantastic from the first whistle. Malinovsky is pulling the strings in the middle and Yarmolenko looks up for it. They're a better side than I thought they were going to be. We just can't get hold of the ball and our only chance of a goal looks like it will come from a set piece.

Can we watch this one instead?

HALF-TIME

There's 20 seconds of additional time and that will do plenty.

Zubkov gave Ukraine the lead in the tenth minute after Northern Ireland fell asleep from a corner.

Ukraine have looked like the likelier of the two sides to find the net and Ian Baraclough's men looked knackered at the end of a long season.

Josh Magennis takes a tumble over his own feet as he tries to turn on the edge of the area and that sums up Northern Ireland's evening so far.

Ciaron Brown is denied by Heorhiy Bushchan from Paddy McNair's free-kick. So close to 1-1!

Not to be outdone by Peacock-Farrell, Bushchan leaps to his left and claws the header away when it looked like it was about to land in the top corner. That's a great save.

Stuart Dallas looks tired, and I never though I'd say that. His passes have been a bit off but it's totally understandable after the season he has had. We're getting stretched, their passing and movement are good so we need to be out our toes.

Josh Magennis isn't far away from Stuart Dallas' delivery before the hosts race up the other end but Yaremchuk pulls his effort wide.

Ukraine look really up for this in front of their vocal support.

GREAT SAVE!

Peacock-Farrell somehow keeps out Yaremchuk from eight yards. Zubkov squared the ball across the face of goal for his strike partner but the Burnley stopped pulled off a great save to keep the hosts out.

The flag was up but the NI stopper wasn't to know that. Great stop and another one for his highlight reel.

Ouch. Now Malinovskiy sticks his studs down the back of Paddy McNair's ankle, and the Middlesbrough man doesn't look overly impressed with the challenge.

However there's still no yellow card.

Yarmolenko catches George Saville on the ankle and somehow gets away without a yellow card. You get the feeling if this wasn't a friendly the West Ham man will be in the referee's notebook.

Ruslan Malinovskiy leathers one over the bar from the edge of the area. Again it comes from another half-clearance, which will be a concern for Ian Baraclough.

GOAL

Oleksandr Zubkov has all the time in the world to head Ukraine into the lead from six yards.

Northern Ireland only half cleared a corner and fail to deal with the second ball. It's a decent ball in by Oleksandr Karavaev but Zubkov is complete unmarked and Peacock-Farrell has no chance.

This will certainly test NI's character.
