  2. Half-time around Europepublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 7 September 2021

Now then, Turkey's Caglar Soyuncu has been shown a second yellow card and has been sent off as his side trail the Netherlands 3-0. Not a good look for the Leicester man.

Elsewhere Gibraltar have managed a consolation goal against Norway just as half-time whistles ring around Europe.

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Serbia have had 63% of the ball, eight shots, six on target.

The Irish have had 37%, three and one.

It's 0-5 on corners too. And crucially 0-1 on goals

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 7 September 2021

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

I've run out of ways to write about Ireland losing in these live texts. It's half-time, they're losing.

  6. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    One minute added on.

  7. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

The Republic of Ireland's three shots in the match so far have all come from outside the area - and all been from Jeff Hendrick.

They have had just three touches in the opposition's box so far.

  8. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Another free-kick for the Irish as Josh Cullen's shot is blocked by an arm. Too far away to shoot.

  9. Doubles for Depay and Haalandpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 7 September 2021

Memphis Depay has his second of the game as he puts the Netherlands 3-0 up against Turkey from the spot - 32 international goals now for the striker.

Norway's Erling Braut Haaland has also got a second goal for his side, who now lead Gibraltar 3-0.

  10. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Filip Djuricic has a shot blocked and then Filip Kostic shoots from distance, saved by Gavin Bazunu. That's his fifth save so far.

  11. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

The only times Irish striker Adam Idah sees the ball is when he runs back into midfield to get it. Starved of service.

  12. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Serbia do look really dangerous. Aleksandar Mitrovic forces a good save with a 20-yard volley from Dusan Vlahovic's chest down.

The Irish get the corner away.

  13. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

One of Ireland's most positive moments of the game. It's a lovely passing move - with some nice footwork from keeper Gavin Bazunu - but it results in James McClean's cross not finding Alan Browne.

  14. Postpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 7 September 2021

Lyndon Dykes opens the scoring for Scotland from the penalty spot in their match against Austria - you can follow along with that one here.

Elsewhere a couple of goals for Denmark from Yussuf Poulsen and Simon Kjaer mean they're 2-0 up against Israel and sitting pretty comfortably at the top of Group F.

Serbia try the same thing again. Dusan Tadic puts in the corner and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic runs free at the near post - but luckily this corner was just too high.

This was the goal that gave Serbia the lead, a header from a corner. Worryingly they have another corner now on the same side.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 31 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Irish striker Adam Idah is booked and it's a bit harsh. He sticks out a boot towards James McClean's cross but Strahinja Pavlovic had stooped down to head it so a foul is given.

    Norway 2-0 Gibraltor

    Norway

Kristian Thorstvedt has put Norway ahead in their Group G game against Gibraltor - that's the same group as the Netherlands and that goal puts them level on points with the Dutch.

Erling Braut Haaland doubles the lead a few minutes later but the Norwegians are still behind the Netherlands on goal difference.

Don't forget, no Norway at the World Cup would mean no Haaland at the World Cup.

  19. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 7 September 2021

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

The Republic of Ireland have won just one of their last 29 competitive matches when failing to keep a clean sheet (D13 L15) - 3-1 away to Moldova in October 2016.

  20. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-1 Serbia

Serbia are knocking on the door again. A cutback evades the entire Irish defence and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic hammers it wide from 20 yards.
