  3. Signing off

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

    That's it from us tonight.

Maybe not a game that will live long in the memory but a win and three points safely pocketed by Northern Ireland.

Next up it's the might of Euro champions Italy at Windsor Park on Monday night.

Make sure you join us for our live coverage of that one.

Until then, it's goodbye and goodnight for now.

  4. Disallowed goals 'harsh'

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Quote Message: The first half was as good a 45 minutes as we have played. We were really commanding for the duration - we had energy, forward thrust, moved the ball quickly and created chances from wide areas. We worked the keeper and I thought we were unfortunate to have the two goals disallowed. Those were very harsh. We should have been further in front but in the second half we were sloppy and couldn't hold onto the ball. from Ian Baraclough Northern Ireland manager

  5. 'Disappointing' second half for NI

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

    Jim Magilton

Former Northern Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio Ulster

Quote Message: Northern Ireland were poor, sloppy, in what was a scrappy second half. It was disappointing but the hard work was done in the first half and it was hard to hit those heights again. There was not the same intensity in their play after the break. Lithuania were better, more aggressive and grew in confidence after they gained some momentum.
  6. Italy and Swiss draw

Italy draw 1-1 with Switzerland in the evening's other Group C qualifier so those two teams remain tied at the top of the pool with Italy having a marginally better goal difference by two.

That means the Euro champions will come to Windsor Park with plenty to play for on Monday night while Northern Ireland still have third place in their sights as they draw level on points with Bulgaria, who face the the Swiss in three days' time.

NI now occupy third spot on goal difference on the back of tonight's success.

  7. FULL-TIME

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Northern Ireland clinch all three points as Benas Satkus's own goal after 17 minutes proves decisive.

A more cutting edge up front would have seen the hosts enjoy a greater winning margin but the fans will go home happy.

  8. Post update

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Lithuania exert some late pressure but Northern Ireland remain resolute in defence as they protect their narrow one-goal lead.

  9. INJURY TIME

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

    Into added time we go.

Northern Ireland look to be easing to a 1-0 victory now.

Not as convincing as they would have hoped but a win is a win and it would be a first in 10 matches at Windsor Park and a first in Belfast for Ian Baraclough during his reign as manager. So significant potentially in those two respects.

  10. YELLOW CARD

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Dominykas Barauskas becomes the first name in the referee's book as he receives a yellow card for a challenge on Stuart Dallas.

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Jordan Jones comes on for Conor Washington as the clock continues to tick down in this scrappy second half.

  12. Taylor-made for goalscoring debut?

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

    Mark Sterling

BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

What a moment this is for 17-year-old Dale Taylor.

The Nottingham Forest striker's inclusion in the Northern Ireland squad earned headlines last week, now he has just over 10 minutes to show what he can do.

His first touch was a positive one, driving at the visitors' defence with a strong run and attempted cross that won a corner.

He couldn't go and score on his debut, could he?

He did score on this ground as a 15-year-old for his former club Linfield. Just saying.

  13. CLOSE!

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Dale Taylor wins a corner with his first touch.

Paddy McNair swings the ball in and Conor Washington flicks a header just wide of the upright.

Another opportunity passed up by the visitors. Home fans will hope they will not be made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal in the remaining 10 minutes.

  14. SUBSTITUTION

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Thirteen minutes to go and 17-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Dale Taylor comes on to replace Josh Magennis.

A first cap for the teenager. Can he make an impact in what remains of this World Cup qualifying encounter?

  15. Post update

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

The rain is pouring down at Windsor Park now and dare we say it, the conditions are matching the standard of play at the moment.

Another goal looks an unlikely prospect but hope springs eternal.

  16. SUBSTITUTION

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Northern Ireland make a double change as Jamal Lewis and Corry Evans are introduced from the substitutes' bench to replace George Saville and Shane Ferguson.

Can they spur Northern Ireland on to greater efforts in this somewhat uninspiring second half?

  17. NI 'need to up the pace'

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

    John O'Neill

Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

Quote Message: It's been mostly Lithuania in this second half. Northern ireland haven't played. It's at times like this that Northern Ireland have to be more brave, keep moving and showing for passes. We've got to up the pace rather than playing at walking pace, It's imperative we start doing the things we did well in the first half like moving well and passing the ball crisply.
  18. CLOSE!

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Josh Magennis tries his luck with a speculative shot from the left but Ernestas Setkus palms the ball away when it seemed easier to catch.

  19. Post update

    Lithuania 1-0 Northern Ireland

Lithuania are well in the game in this second half and Bailey Peacock-Farrell gets his fingertips to an effort by Benas Satkus, who is trying to atone for his earlier own goal.

  20. Post update

    Northern Ireland 1-0 Lithuania

Some intricate play by the hosts on the edge of the area and George Saville's left-foot shot is turned round the post by Ernestas Setkus.

Not sure it was necessary to concede the corner as the ball appeared to be going wide of the post in any case but the keeper was taking no chances.

    The corner comes to nothing.
