It's all level thanks to one of the howlers of the season.

As other Arsenal fans will know, this isn't the first time this season we've thrown away games when we're in complete control.

    David G

Xhaka gets regular criticism because of his regular mistakes like that one. Awful decision making on too many occasions.

    Jack

    Ah, Xhaka. You never disappoint.

snkrhouseldn: Awful. Awful. Awful. This is a disastrous goal to concede. Every time we are in control we make it hard for ourselves

Paul Garnett: That is one of the most bizarre goals I've ever seen

Stavros Makro: The obsession to play from the back with passes, even if you're under pressure, well it's not always wise

TV are replaying the goal time and again.

    It gets worse and worse.

Mikel Arteta will be fuming. Arsenal were in complete control.

    Talking of clangers....

What have I just seen? Arsenal try to play it out from the back and, not for the first time, get it horribly wrong.

Bernd Leno plays it to Granit Xhaka who tries to pick out David Luiz deep inside his own penalty area but his pass cannons off Chris Wood's chest and into the net.

Terrible by Arsenal. An absolute gift for Burnley.

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

We've seen some right goalkeeping clangers recently but Nick Pope just about does enough after rushing out of his box to clear before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can pounce. Burnley's defence was undone by a simple ball over the top.

Burnley are getting the ball into Arsenal's final third but then seem to run out of ideas. One attempt on target for the hosts so far. They've got to do better.

For all the plaudits Burnley get, the reality is that their saving grace this year (if they do manage to stay up) has been how poor others have been. Only Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than Burnley this year, which says it all really

No sign of Granit Xhaka grabbing anyone around the throat as he did in the reverse fixture at the Emirates.

This is a calm, controlled and professional job by the Gunners so far.

    Very nearly an Arsenal Partey!

Great work by Martin Odegaard to keep the ball from rolling out for a goal-kick before spotting Thomas Partey unmarked about 20 yards out.

He rolls it towards his team-mate who lashes it first-time. Just over.

Goonerama: Turf Moor living up to its name today. Pretty much literally a moor covered with random chunks of turf. You can see Arsenal's front players really struggling to zip it around to each other. Tactical non-watering from Burnley perhaps.

Anyone else get woken by hyperactive birds dancing on their roof tops at 5 this morning? At least I think it was birds! They're doing it again. I'm having to turn the volume up on my TV so I can hear what's going on.

Burnley fans will not see the funny side, David.

Bernd Leno hasn't had much to do but he's quickly off his line to gather after James Tarkowski connects with Charlie Taylor's free-kick.

It's been very flat from the Clarets.

  17. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are playing some lovely stuff. Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a neat one-two which, after a deflection, opens up for Saka who puts it wide. That would have been a sumptuous goal.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    Oh my goodness!

Thomas Partey tries to pick out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inside the penalty area but Matt Lowton seems to have it covered until the ball squirms away from him towards the Arsenal forward.

Fortunately for Burnley Aubameyang, who is off-balance, cannot finish this time.

Dwight McNeil delivers a cross into the six-yard area but there's no one there to attack it and it's all too easy for Arsenal at the moment.

It's not quite as bad as Spurs last week but where's Burnley's cutting edge?

Alistair Wiseman: It's all about the little 1-2 with Xhaka there that opened up the movement.. but everyone loves to hate Xhaka so it'll go unnoticed!

Daniel Cheng: Partey's forward pass was key to getting that move flowing. Elneny or Xhaka would have passed sideways or backwards or even lost the ball
