GOAL Hamilton Academical 1-1 St Johnstonepublished at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Guy Melamed

    Heartbreak for Hamilton.

It's a route one ball up the park and no one follows Melamed. He still does well to pluck it out of the sky and finish with the outside of his foot.

  2. goal

GOAL Livingston 0-1 Rangerspublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Alfredo Morelos

Denied a penalty in the first half, Alfredo Morelos finally makes his mark with the opening goal just when Livingston looked to have frustrated the league leaders.

Glen Kamara's tenacity inside the penalty box gives Cedric Itten the chance to lay the ball into the patch of Steven Davis and, when goalkeeper Max Stryjek can only parry the midfielder's low drive, the Colombia striker is there to turn it over the line.

    Quote Message

This is the type of performance from Livi that we’ve become so familiar with. The way they’re playing is so recognisable from them. It’s night and day with what they were like in the final on Sunday, which will frustrate them a lot

  4. Postpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 St Johnstone

Not much of note as we near the final 10 minutes in Hamilton.

St Johnstone still having most of the play but aren't opening up Accies as often as they were in the first half.

  5. Close but no cigarpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

Connor Goldson has had the ball in the net tonight, but the whistle went against the Rangers centre-half as he beat goalkeeper Max Stryjek to a Borna Barisic corner.

  6. Postpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

It's end to end at the moment, but it is Rangers who are coming closest to breaking the deadlock.

Alfredo Morelos has a sight at goal again, but his shot on the turn is saved by goalkeeper Max Stryjek at the near post.

How has he missed that? Morelos is there at the back post and it looks like he just has to put it in. I can’t believe he hasn’t scored there

  8. How did he miss that?published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

Connor Goldson has caused problems in the air for the Livingston defence and the centre-half threatens again as he meets a Borna Barisic corner.

It looks easy for Alfredo Morelos to divert it home at the back post, but the striker appears to wince at the prospect of colliding with the post and heads wide.

  9. Postpublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

Rangers are under a bit of pressure here as Livingston force a couple of corners and Borna Barisic has to clear desperately with his chest at the back post.

    Quote Message

You can absolutely understand why Morelos is having a shot there, but Kent was in a great position, maybe even a better one. That’s the fine margins involved in winning a game of football - knowing when to slide in a team-mate who is in a better position

  11. Postpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

Almost an identical position from a few moments ago for Alfredo Morelos after a fine Glen Kamara through ball.

The striker has the option of finding a couple of team-mates charging into the Livingston penalty box, but he powers his low drive wide of the far post.

  12. McGregor bails out Rangerspublished at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

    Michael Stewart

    Quote Message

Allan McGregor’s positioning there is brilliant. One long, drilled ball from the Livi goalie and Rangers are in trouble. They’d have been in even bigger trouble if McGregor wasn’t so alert to the situation

  13. Postpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

Alfredo Morelos powers through a couple of challenges and fires a low drive across the face of goal but wide of Livingston's far post.

It's still not happening for Rangers - yet - tonight.

  14. Saints look to change coursepublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson doesn't like what he's seeing and makes a double change.

Off go Craig Bryson and Stevie May and on come Michael O'Halloran and Glenn Middleton.

    Quote Message

Rangers' midfield, with Davis, Kamara and Arfield, sometimes can look really flat. A number 10 like Hagi would lift it. Maybe even Scott Wright could inject some pace into Rangers attacking play

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2021

    Hamilton Academical 1-0 St Johnstone

Hamilton steal the ball high up the pitch as Ross Callachan sets up David Moyo. The striker's shot cannons off the upright and it's a big let off for St Johnstone.

The away side have lost their grip on this game and Hamilton are looking likely to extend their lead.

Maybe Sunday's cup exploits are catching up on the visitors.

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

The firework display that lit up the Tony Macaroni Arena and left the commentators unable to hear themselves think has thankfully passed.

There was a brief interlude in the play as debrit was cleared that wouldn't have done much good for the artificial surface!

    Quote Message

Morelos dropping deep only works well when there are runners going beyond him. It can work well as the striker attracks the central defenders, but Morelos is someone you want going forward and in the box constantly
