All very perplexing how VAR can deem a slight touch of a face a foul, but not a boot in the head.

Kane's touch, first-class. He flicks it round the corner to Lucas who cuts it back.

Son still has a lot to do. It's a great finish.

    That's vintage Spurs!

It's a lovely build-up as Harry Kane's plays an outstanding pass to Luca Moura who squares for Son Heung-Min to fire home from about six yards.

Son was involved in the incident which led to United's goal being disallowed but he's put Spurs in the driving seat with that finish.

If he doesn't give the goal, he has to book McTominay. He has to give him a yellow. In theory he should be sending him off.

I can't believe this. As the player, you have to use your arms to run forward.

That's going to be a big talking point.

There's no doubt McTominay caught Son but was it accidental?

Spurs just switched off allowing Pogba to thread a pass to Cavani to score.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to have something to say about that.

No way is that a foul. He's caught him but I don't think VAR will look at that. You have to carry on.

It's great movement from Cavani and a lovely finish.

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 36 mins

    Hang on.

VAR are involved and the referee has been urged to go and look at a replay on the monitor.

    Edinson Cavani

And there's the breakthrough but Tottenham are far from happy!

Scott McTominay appears to catch Son Heung-Min in the face but the referee waves play on and moments later Edinson Cavani fires past Hugo Lloris from a tight angle following Paul Pogba's pass.

Two teams here set up for counter-attacking football it seems. No one team really wants to press the other.

Three attempts. None on target. Half an hour on the clock. My thoughts are with the reporters with 1,000 word match reports to write.

You can take this game one of two ways so far. Cagey...or dull.

Nothing much in the way of clear cut chances but plenty of quality on show so we live in hope.

Babyboomer201: Defensive midfielder responsible for running, chasing & tackling in front of the defence booked in the first 20 minutes. Could be a long 70 minutes for McTominay.

Lucas Moura is played in behind United's defence and has space to get in a cross but Dean Henderson makes a confident catch. You get the feeling it's going to require something extra special to lead in this match. Both defences are dominating.

Manchester United have been very quiet but as we said before the game, I think they would take a draw. Tottenham are the ones who have to win and they've started the brighter.

We've not seen too much from Harry Kane so far. He tries to set up a chance for Giovani Lo Celso but is eventually forced to go backwards after being surrounded by red shirts.
