Yesterday's action saw Bournemouth emerge as the big winners.

They beat Middlesbrough 3-1 on the south coast to close to within a point of the play-offs.

A result that dealt Boro's play-off hopes a severe blow.

None of the other sides around the play-off zone won.

Swansea lost a third straight game, going down 1-0 at Birmingham.

Coventry were well beaten at QPR while Rotherham missed a last-minute penalty to nick a point at Millwall.

Huddersfield meanwhile still have work to do to ensure their Championship survival.

They're seven points above the relegation zone at the start of play, also with the buffer of Coventry and Birmingham between themselves and the drop zone.

They have games in hand on those sides but have played two games more then third-from-bottom Rotherham.

A run of one win in six has made things a little uncomfortable for the Terriers.

Brentford begin the day in fourth and will hope to solidify their place in the play-offs.

They're 10 points behind second-placed Watford with two games in hand so still have a sniff of automatic promotion.

But with just nine games to go there is very little room for error.

Draws with lowly Nottingham Forest and Derby have made a play-off place seem most likely for the Bees.
