  3. 'I have to question myself' - Neilsonpublished at 22:36 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2021

FT: Brora Rangers 2-1 Heart of Midlothian

More from Hearts manager Robbie Neilson after his side's shock defeat to Brora Rangers.

He tells BBC Scotland: "Everyone has to question themselves that's part of Hearts. I'm the head coach so I have to question myself about what we're doing, what we're doing in training, what we're doing in matches because that's not good enough.

"You can go down the way and feel sorry for yourselves or you can take it on the chin and fight back. I hope there's players in the dressing room that will do that.

"At Hearts it's not good enough to get promoted and then sit at the bottom of the league. We're aiming for the top four."

  4. Hearts defeat an 'embarrassment' for Hearts - Neilsonpublished at 22:29 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2021

FT: Brora Rangers 2-1 Heart of Midlothian

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson tells BBC Scotland: "From our perspective it's not good enough. We still have remnants of the relegation season there in the group, in the club. We need to deal with it and get it moved out. We can't accept that tonight, it's an embarrassment for us. It's an embarrassment for the football club and for all of us involved, the standard is not good enough. We should not be coming here and losing games no matter how many shots on target we have, it doesn't matter, it's about putting the ball in the net.

"I knew when I came in here I was turning around a ship that was heading in the wrong direction, it had three wins out of 30 in the Premiership. We've changed it, we've turned it around in areas, but there's still a lot of work to do here and you can see that tonight."

Brora Rangers' two goalscorers tell BBC Scotland of their joy of writing their name into Scottish Cup history.

Jordan Macrae: "I just tired to hit it as hard as I could. I was hoping the goalkeeper would save it and it would parry out, but thankfully it went in.

"I fancy us against most teams because we gave Hibs a good game and I couldn't see why we couldn't give Hearts a game, but to be honest I don't know how we've done it."

Martin MacLean: "I can't remember much about it, I was that tired. I thought it was over but it crept under the bar. What a feeling when it hit the net."

@couttsmf: #BBCSportScot - embarrassing performance by Hearts tonight. Brora fully deserved win. A team who think they should be top 6 in the prem were short of energy, desire, passion & ideas. The bus journey home will give time to have a long hard look at themselves & type the resignations.

FT: Brora Rangers 2-1 Heart of Midlothian

More from Brora Rangers manager Steven Mackay, who tells BBC Scotland: "These players have just got unbelievable character and I wasn't surprised we went up the park and scored again.

"In a normal season this would be an astronomical result. But you throw in the circumstances that surrounded this game, we haven't played a game since the first week in January. We've had five training sessions and one friendly and that's it. We had no right whatsoever to win this game. I'm just so privileged to be manager of such an incredible team.

"I said in the dressing room I had a funny feeling we could do something tonight. Internally we just had an inkling we could do something special tonight."

  14. Postpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2021

FT: Brora Rangers 2-1 Heart of Midlothian.

Brora Rangers manager Steven Mackay tells BBC Scotland: "Just an incredible feeling. It's the single biggest moment in my football career as a player and manager. I'm just so proud of the players and the performance.

"I don't think many who watched that game would have begrudged us that result.

"Jordan Macrae got us the goal and it just shot the confidence right through the team. They've got a knack of producing when the odds are against them. It'll be a surprise to most people but internally to ourselves, not really."
