Goncalo Ramos hasn't even had a touch of the ball and he's won a penalty. Marc Guehi stands on his foot on the corner of the box. Spot-kick.

Dany Mota needs treatment after being caught by Ben Godfrey. Godfrey fouls him in the air then stands on his face on the ground. The officials must have deemed it an accident because he's only booked.
Portugal 1-0 England
An England defeat wouldn't eliminate them tonight. But it would mean if Switzerland get a point or more against Portugal, then it wouldn't matter what England do against Croatia in their final game.
Dany Mota
Portugal deservedly take the lead.
Tom Davies loses the ball in midfield and Pedro Goncalves carries it forward 40 yards before feeding Dany Mota, who hits a perfect first-time strike from the edge of the box which clips the inside of the post on its way in.
Portugal 0-0 England
Portugal bring on Francisco Conceicao for his Under-21 debut. Fabio Vieira is replaced.
Portugal 0-0 England
Almost a wonder goal from Noni Madueke on his England U21 debut. He cuts in from the wing, going past four defenders before shooting over the bar.

Copsey2468: Eze already looking the best attacking threat. Unstoppable when in full flight

Re: James at 21:00. This strikes of the Seymour Skinner meme - "No, it's the children who are wrong." At the end of the day Boothroyd has butchered the most talented England u21s sides in a generation, and plainly has not given them the motivation or tactical structure to succeed. Last tournament he took a side containing Mount, Foden and Calvert-Lewin out in the group stages, losing to the mighty Romania. This time around, the likes of CHO, Guehi and Jones are likely to have big international futures, and are obviously far more talented than the Swiss team. What's the constant variable? ↑ less

Portugal 0-0 England
Portugal's Fabio Vieira gets the ball 30 yards out, holds off Tom Davies and slams just over the bar.
Portugal 0-0 England
England's best move probably. Eberechi Eze runs forward and plays the ball to Eddie Nketiah. He backheels it across and Dwight McNeil lets it run but Eze just wasn't able to get onto it.
Portugal 0-0 England
The Sessegnon dynasty on the left side for England U21s is over. Ryan is replaced by Dwight McNeil.

If anyone deserved the half time hook it was Tom Davies who gave the ball away several times..Smith Rowe looked as progressive as anyone out there..

England striker Eddie Nketiah gets the ball on the halfway line and goes on a good run. Portugal's Thierry Correia brings him down and gets booked.
Portugal 0-0 England
Eberechi Eze makes a good run forward but tries to play it into Eddie Nketiah. Portugal keeper Diogo Costa comes sliding towards the corner of the box to catch it.
