Somehow it is not 3-0. Casemiro dives in to try and steer Benzema's downward header into the net but he steers the ball over the bar.

Real want a penalty for a clip on Casemiro as he sought to get to the ball but they won't get one.

That goal will bring huge relief to Zinedine Zidane. Cadiz are a tough nut to crack.

A penalty it is. Vinicius Jr. is clipped in the box by Isaac Carcelen (who is shown a yellow card) and Real have a big chance to lead this game.

Cadiz 0-0 Real Madrid

The ref is coming over to look at the monitor for a potential foul on Vinicius Jr. in the Cadiz box. Reckon we might have a penalty here.

Rodrygo wants a penalty. He has a case too as he has had his shirt pulled by Jairo Izquierdo as he broke into the box. The ref waves it away, though.

The only thing that can have saved Cadiz is if the ref thought the ball had run away from the Real man, which I suspect it had.

Cheeky. Varane goes into the book for standing in front of Cadiz keeper Jeremias Ledesma and blocking his attempted kick out.

Need to be more subtle with antics like that. Like Dion Dublin mugging off Newcastle's Shay Given.

Half chance for Real. Rodrygo is allowed to turn in the box but he has a lot of men around him, one of whom blocks his shot.

Cadiz giving as good as they get here. Real are struggling to break down their well-organised 4-4-2 setup. And they are keeping the visitors' back three on their toes too.
