Blackpool have had some good days out at the national stadium.

From Matthews and Mortensen, to Adam and Ormerod, to Potts and Cullen, there have been heroes in Tangerine under the twin towers and the arch.

They'll get another chance to add some more now, on 30 May.

For Oxford, it's a summer of reflection, rest and recuperation. Ready to go again.

Sunderland or Lincoln await. You can follow that one tomorrow afternoon from 15:15 BST. It's got some living up to hasn't it.

    Until then, good night.

How mixed must Elliot Embleton feel right now?

He's a Durham lad, plays for Sunderland but is on loan at Blackpool.

Presumably he'd be denied the chance to play at Wembley if Sunderland, who play tomorrow, get through too.

Either way, he deserves to play there. He was outstanding tonight and his goal was a peach.

One more semi-final to play as Sunderland take on Lincoln, tasked with overturning a 2-0 first leg deficit at the Stadium of Light before 10,000 fans.

That's kicking off at 15:30 BST tomorrow.

Then, the final takes place on 30 May, at Wembley.

Blackpool striker Jerry Yates told Sky Sports:

"It's a special moment for the club, considering the start we had we gad to believe in ourselves.

"We knew we had to do things right and prepare, they came at us early but out reaction was exceptional.

"I can't wait for the final. We didn't let our heads get down and knocked the goals in.

"The gaffer gets us prepared week in week out and never gets tactics wrong. We listen what he has to say and we try to follow his gameplan.

"The fans were the 12th man tonight."

Cor. What a game. Breathless. We had it all.

Tough tackling, little bit of spice and sparkle, some great goals.

In the end, it's another season of disappointment for Oxford who again come close but no cigar to promotion.

Blackpool can now look to continue their bounce-back from the doldrums, the Championship is now just 90 minutes away.

Blackpool progress in a thriller, all thanks in the end to their superb first-leg display at Oxford.

The U's came to Bloomfield Road with hopes of upsetting the apple cart and did a great of job of bringing chaos, bringing excitement.

They kept fighting, scoring goals from Matty Taylor, Rob Atkinson and Olamide Shodipo to keep the home side on their toes.

That said, Blackpool were never in danger, and their goals from Elliot Emnbleton, Kenny Dougall and Jerry Yates are enough to keep a comfortable three-goal cushion.

Wembley beckons now for Neil Critchley's team.

Mark Sykes is led away by his team-mates as a high boot leaves Kenny Dougall on the turf.

Blackpool's Dan Ballard and Kevin Stewart certainly made their point to the Oxford player who gets a booking.

The fans are just bouncing now, as Blackpool romp forward on the counter.

Ethan Robson makes a burst through the middle and is found by a searching ball, he then feeds it unselfishly onto Keshi Anderson but it's a weak finish.

Could have blown the roof off with that one.

His team-mate ignores him and goes for goal but the block breaks - it looks a tap in but Jack Stevens throws himself down to save.

    Stunning.

Blackpool close to a fourth but Oxford stand up defensively.

Jerry Yates did well to hold up play on the right before sliding square to Keshi Anderson.

It looks like the goal is his to aim at but Oxford scramble and he's forced wide, and the shot tamely is blocked.

Karl Robinson looks gutted, how he will rue the home game and how he too will rue the short-lived joy of their comebacks in this game. Just didn't keep hold of any advantage they have chiselled out tonight.

It looks like again the Us will come up short, but what a season it's been. Scraping themselves off the foot of the table to slug it out for the play-offs.

Luke Garbutt must be the coolest man on the field as he just coaxes the ball back to Chris Maxwell to take the sting out of another raid by Oxford.

    Calmness personified.

Then Oxford come down the left and Blackpool have to clear another dangerous cross.

Jerry Yates gets into space for the Seasiders down the right. Jack Stevens makes a big save to palm his effort over.

The second-half display, effort and performance from Oxford is worthy of genuine credit. Not token gesture.

This team hadn't conceded in eight and a bit hours. They've shipped three tonight, a night of drama and massive excitement.

    Superb game.

Oxford deserve credit for this, as their subs Dan Agyei and Olamide Shodipo combine for a third and leveller on the night.

Brilliant footwork from Agyei, teasing and dancing his way down the right before scooping a cross to Shodipo.

His first effort is blocked, the second hammered with conviction into the Blackpool net. They won't give up.

"Seaside aggro," chant the Blackpool fans. Not heard that chant for years.

They've also been unflatteringly comparing Karl Robinson with comedian James Corden.

    Sure he's chuffed about that.
