  1. St Mirren's near missespublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 26 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v St Mirren (19:45)

St Mirren's season has been one of near misses so far. Beaten 1-0 in the semi-finals of the League Cup by Livingston, and also pipped to a top-six spot by St Johnstone, the Paisley side have suffered a few blows.

However, it has still been a positive season for Jim Goodwin's side, and if they could win the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1987, it would turn into one of the best in the club's history.

  2. Lafferty's absence a blowpublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 26 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v St Mirren (19:45)

Kyle Lafferty is a big reason why Kilmarnock's recent fortunes have turned. It's a big blow for Tommy Wright that he has been ruled out after a training ground injury.

The Northern Irishman has scored 10 goals in his last 6 appearances, including an 11-minute hattrick against Dundee United last week.

St Mirren will likely be relieved...

It's a better competition without the Old Firm in the semis. It's more democratic, more exciting, it reflects better on Scottish football and you can make a case for all five clubs left to win it.

  5. Cup blown wide openpublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 26 April 2021

    Kilmarnock v St Mirren (19:45)

Last night's intervention from the luminous green St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark means this Scottish Cup is extremely enticing.

Celtic - winners of the last four editions - were beaten in the last round by Rangers, who themselves were dumped out in the last eight on penalties by St Johnstone last night.

It means neither of the Old Firm have reached the semi-finals of EITHER domestic cup competition for the first time EVER.
