The pattern of play is the same, with Hibs probing and pushing Motherwell back.

Motherwell's mission is clear; do not lose. They are dropping deep, happy to surrender possession and soaking up the pressure.

Hibs have not been able to move the visitors around quickly enough. Martin Boyle has been sharp on the right but midfielders Joe Newell and Jackson Irvine maybe need to pick up the pace in the middle of the park.

"It's a bit laboured," says former manager John Collins on BBC Sportsound of his old team's build up.

Here's hoping the second half is a bit livelier or the highlights are going to be pretty short.

Hibs continue to knock it about quite well in the middle of the park but it all breaks down once they reach the final third and the massed ranks of Motherwell defenders.

Motherwell spring into life for the first time and Hibs are stretched at the back.

It ends with Allan Campbell cracking in a shot from 20 yards and goalkeeper Matt Macey pushes it away.

A chance for Motherwell to get bodies into the Hibs box but Mark O'Hara's free-kick is disappointing, sailing straight into the gloves of Matt Macey.

Motherwell are camped deep in their own half, working hard to deny the hosts' room to operate in. They have not been able get forwards Christopher Long and Devante Cole involved yet.

Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet cuts in from the left and bends a cross towards the back post. It eludes Christian Doidge and zips just wide.

The home side are hogging the ball just now and Martin Boyle fizzes one in this time but, again, no one can get a telling touch.
