When I look at the play-offs, the stand-out team I would be looking to avoid is Blackpool.

They are not conceding, they have won their last three games and are finishing the season strongly.

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Accrington's set-pieces have been exceptional. Every one has been right under the keeper's nose, into a dangerous area. They haven't managed to convert one yet though, but it's pressure.

It's not been a comfortable afternoon so far for the home side, who are slipping out of the top six at this rate.

    League One final day

Crewe's advantage at home to Shrewsbury has been cut to 2-1, with a curling finish from the dependable Shaun Whalley getting his side back into the game.

Meanwhile, Gillingham are in front thanks to Vadaine Oliver heading home for his 20th goal of the season.

Craig MacGillivray is being peppered with dangerous crosses into the penalty area and Accrington really do sense they can do a number here.

Portsmouth cannot get out of their own end of the field, it's repeated wave after wave.

John Coleman said in his pre-match interview he would come here to win and his side have been as good as his word.

    Oxford 2-0 Burton

Karl Robinson will be delighted with what he's seen from his seat in the stands.

Of course the Oxford boss this morning discovered he has been given a four-game touchline ban for the incident at Sunderland earlier in the season.

He would miss the final of course, if Oxford were to get into the play-offs and reach Wembley for the second successive season.

Ipswich are firing on all cylinders at home to Fleetwood today, with Troy Parrott's close-range finish making it 3-0.

At Crewe, Mikael Mandron has his second after smashing a volley into the roof of the net, moments after Shrewsbury cleared Owen Dale's shot off the line.

    Charlton 0-0 Hull

Chances at both ends at The Valley.

Charlton saw Liam Millar scythe his way into the box before firing over, while at the other end Mallik Wilks' shot was saved by Ben Amos.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:32 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Craig MacGillivray has had to stretch every sinew to beat away a thunderous free-kick by Adam Phillips.

    Accrington close to a second.

They are running the show and Portsmouth cannot get into a rhythm.

    Matty Taylor (28 mins)

Big second goal for Oxford, and it's top scorer Matty Taylor who gets it.

A long ball up to Olamide Shodipo is touched to Ollie Lee, and he then gives it back to the winger but the shot is blocked and loops up.

It's heading towards Burton goalkeeper Dillon Barnes but in nips Taylor to guide it into the back of the net with a powerful header.

Two-nil. Play-offs beckon as it stands.

    Portsmouth 0-1 Accrington

Big concern for Ronan Curtis now as the Pompey winger is in agony on the turf after taking a high boot.

He's back up now at least.

There really is no sympathy for James Coppinger's final hurrah at Doncaster.

Peterborough are now 3-0 up at the Keepmoat Stadium thanks to a header from close range from Idris Kanu.

Elsewhere, Wigan have capitalised on a bright start at home to already-relegated Swindon, with Curtis Tilt nodding into an empty net from a corner.

    Adam Phillips (22 mins)

    Accrington celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Wow. What a cat amongst the pigeons goal that is.

    And it's a peach too.

Accrington have played with plenty of confidence so far, and get their reward when the ball is worked around the box, touched into Adam Phillips in acres of space in the box and his fierce drive rips into the top scorner beyond Craig MacGillivray.

    Definitely advantage Oxford now.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Portsmouth 0-0 Accrington

Pompey's Marcus Harness is the first player in the referee's notebook after clobbering Sean McConville.

Accrington come forward with Dion Charles proving a menace but he's blocked off eventually by Callum Johnson.

The news of Ed Sheeran's sponsorship might have been a good omen for Ipswich Town.

Gwion Edwards has made it 2-0 after using his strength to shrug off a defender.

Peterborough have also doubled their advantage thanks to Niall Mason nodding home a free-kick.

Meanwhile, Mikael Mandon has put Crewe in front against Shrewsbury with a right-footed finish across the keeper.

  16. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Charlton 0-0 Hull

Hull really driving the issue at The Valley, and Charlton have been on the backfoot so far.

Mallik Wilks is proving a threat, teasing crosses into the box, just eluding Keane Lewis-Potter with one such delivery.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Accrington

Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley has a furrowed brow on the touchline as he looks on at Fratton Park.

That's because Accrington have taken a bit of a grip on the game, imposing themselves and getting the ball into the box, albeit without too much jeopardy for Craig MacGillivray.

At the other end, a sharp give and go move almost releases John Marquis but the Stanley defence is equal to it.

    Oxford 1-0 Burton

Oxford are really threatening now, with Olamide Shodipo in full swagger.

He weaved his way into the box and had a shot blocked, and then put in a magnificent cross from the left, right into that corridor of uncertainty, which Matty Taylor just couldn't divert at goal.

Burton could be in for a long afternoon.

  19. Postpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

    Charlton 0-0 Hull

Hull haven't put the cue in the rack despite already being crowned champions, and Ben Amos had to be smart to deny Josh Magennis to keep the scores level.

Charlton know Oxford's goal is a major blow, as they already have an inferior goal difference before considering bettering their result.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Accrington

Toby Savin has some early work to do for Accrington, first of all blocking from John Marquis after he was put through on an acute angle.

Then he punched away Marcus Harness' swinging corner. Marquis is being swamped.

Harness then whipped in a set-piece which was well dealt with by the Stanley defence.
