That was absolutely amazing. I was thinking that is a poor delivery. He had his back to goal and flicked it. It is unbelievable.

The goal stands!
Rightly so too. That finish gets better with every replay.

But wait, VAR is checking for a possible offside...
Ferran Torres
Fantastic goal!
It is all change as Manchester City quickly take the lead as Ferran Torres superbly flicks a free kick with the back of his foot into the back of the net.
João Cancelo
Clearly not difficult enough though!
In the end there is perhaps too many Newcastle players in their own box as Joao Cancelo hits a bit of a speculative effort from the edge of the box that takes a deflection and put it out of Martin Dubravka's reach.

That was magnificent from Shelvey. Plenty of power and direction. It was only the crossbar that saved Manchester City.

Jonjo Shelvey whips the free kick over the wall, Scott Carson is beaten but the ball smacks back off the crossbar.

It's carnage out there at the moment. You have Rodri down in one box and Almiron down. It was a great break from Newcastle. The problem they had then was he was running against Kyle Walker. Against anyone else that would have been a two versus one.

Fantastic header. He got up brilliantly and gave Scott Carson no chance. That's exactly what Steve Bruce would have wanted.
Pep Guardiola will be bitterly disappointed with that after the start they have made.
Emil Krafth
Well, well, well!
Emil Krafth powers home a header from the corner. Don't think there was much Scott Carson could have done about it. A really good header.
It has been all City but now they are behind.
Newcastle 0-0 Man City
Scott Carson's thoughts are disrupted though as Newcastle suddenly break with Allan Saint-Maximin onto a ball over the top. He charges forward before passing to Joelinton, whose shot is deflected behind.
Newcastle 0-0 Man City
Martin Dubravka continues to be the busier of the two goalkeepers as he punches away a cross.
Scott Carson, meanwhile, is stood up at the other end of the pitch thinking about where exactly in his house he will put the below picture on display.

It's only a matter of time before City score if they keep playing this way.
Newcastle 0-0 Man City
Now we have a shot on target, João Cancelo cutting inside and bending a decent strike towards the near post but Martin Dubravka has it covered.
