    West Brom 0-0 West Ham

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

That was West Ham's fourth penalty of the season and they have a 50% record.

Curiously, Jesse Lingard scored with their last one, after missing with his first. Rice took the first one West Ham received this season, against Sheffield United in February, when he scored.

Hindsight a wonderful thing but maybe it would have been better for Lingard to keep the job.

  6. 'We'd love to sign Willock'published at 20:27 British Summer Time 19 May 2021

    FT: Newcastle 1-0 Sheff Utd

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce speaking to BBC Sport: "The supporter were terrific. When you think there were only 10,000 here, it's amazing the difference. We could have put it to bed a bit earlier. Some of our play in the first half very decent."

On the prospects of keeping Joe Willock at Newcastle: "As I have said before, it's a doubled-edged sword. We have to respect he's Arsenal's player. If we can, we'd love to bring him here. Let's see what we can do because he's exactly what we needed. Joe has still got a lot to learn but we have given him a freedom and a licence to get forward. He is a young player enjoying his football.

On injuries: "We have struggled. It has practically been two years non-stop for the players. There are a few bumps and bruises in the dressing room."

On the future: "We all aspire to take Newcastle into the top half of the table. We have to be actively better than just surviving. We have got the makings of a half decent team."

    Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Ryan Mason speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We scored a good goal but we gave them a goal that they didn't have to earn. When you give a Premier League team two goals it becomes very difficult to change the game. I'm very disappointed. It wasn't how we wanted to finish the season at home in front of our fans.

"It's a big game for us [on Sunday], it's a big game for them [Leicester City]. We have to get over this. We will work tomorrow, there is no doubt we have to be ready and we know what we have to do."

On Harry Kane: "He means a lot. He's a Tottenham player. I've answered so many questions on Harry Kane in the last 24 hours. I'm willing to speak about the game but not individuals. We were fully focused on the match and I'm very disappointed.

"There are so many emotions in football. I love representing this football club. Yes a lot has been going on but our aim is to get results on the pitch and unfortunately we didn't do that."

"They make a difference, in the history of the club our supporters make the difference and next season they will make a difference. It was nice to see them, totally different atmosphere.

"The reaction was good. We are in the fight. It is unpredictable but we are still in the fight. Maybe we are going to have the most difficult game of the season but to be in the fight is important.

"I have hope knowing it will be the most difficult game. We beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester. We don't have a lot of possibility I know but with the small possibility we will do our best."

Will James Rodriguez be back after missing this game with fatigue? "I hope so because everyone will be important for the last game."
