    Real Madrid 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Vinicius Junior is playing with Real confidence at the moment and he's allowed to get in on the left with Shakhtar's full-backs nowhere. Vinicius gets into the box but does one step over too many and loses the ball.

    Karim Benzema

    But that's all it takes!

Terrible, terrible defending by the visitors - whose strikers must be livid as nonchalant passing across the back is pounced on by Vinicius Junior, who then squares for Karim Benzema to finish from close range,.

Goal number 1,000 for Real in the Champions League/European Cup and it was an absolute gift.

    Luis Diaz

Disaster for Milan as they fall behind to Porto with Luis Diaz firing home from Marko Grujic's assist.

Poor defending once again from the hosts and they've got a lot of work to do already.

And we are under way in the two early kick offs.

  20. Postpublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2021

Contrasting days in Milan and Madrid. It was bright and sunny in the latter but chucking it down in the former, so much so that the players didn't exactly hang about for a wander on the pitch around an hour ago.

All four teams are out now though and it is almost time for kick off in these early games.
