    Liverpool 0-0 Porto

    Oooh! Almost a Porto opener.

Otavio steals the ball off Liverpool left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas in a dangerous position and whips a ball on to the head of Mehdi Taremi.

The forward doesn't get much on it, taking Joel Matip by surprise and it hits the Liverpool defender and trickles wide. Alisson was beaten there.

It was possibly the wrong person for City in that situation - Zinchenko. He didn't make any decision at all. You needed someone with more creativity.

    Man City 0-0 PSG

This is already shaping up to be a cracker.

PSG's first attack, on the counter, sees a shot from Neymar blocked. They slunk right through the City press.

    Man City 0-0 PSG

City drive forward again with Bernardo Silva finding Oleksandr Zinchenko infield. He is about to shoot but has his pocket pinched for possession by Leandro Paredes.

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto

Pepe shows he's still got some legs - this is the Portuguese defender's 100th Champions League outing but he gets across to beat Mo Salah to a through ball and tidy up for the visitors.

City press so well. There is always a trigger. When one goes they all go.

Off the line! And then into the side-netting!

Rodri meets the free-kick at the back post and heads the ball towards goal. It would find it too but for Presnel Kimpembe's clearance.

Riyad Mahrez then picks up the ball and fires a shot that is pushed into the side of the net by Keylor Navas.

    Encouraging.

    Man City 0-0 PSG

Riyad Mahrez wins a free-kick in PSG territory. It's a shove from Neymar that does it. Chance to deliver...

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto

Mo Salah, hands tucked inside his thermals, chases down a back pass but even the Egyptian was never reaching that. Porto go direct but the ball finds its way into Alisson's hands.

By the way, that PSG bench. I mean, it's not really fair is it?

  12. Postpublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 PSG

Nuno Mendes is having an early nightmare. A sloppy touch under no pressure lets the ball go out of play. City have started positively.

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto

Otavio wins a corner for the visitors. First chance for Porto to whip one in, but Joel Matip is up well to nod clear for the home side. Porto have it back though, they've seen all the early ball.

Riyad Mahrez tries to find Ilkay Gundogan as he charges into the box. Overhits the pass, though.

    Man City 0-0 PSG

First bit of defending is PSG's to take care of. Nuno Mendes sticks out a nervous boot to stop a pass into the box reaching Raheem Sterling. Almost messed it up.

    Liverpool 0-0 Porto

Bit of a false start at Liverpool, who had to retake kick-off... but we are up and running at Anfield now and Porto have come straight at the hosts.

  17. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2021

    Man City 0-0 PSG

City start with what looks like a back four. Oleksandr Zinchenko in midfield.

Well, we got quite the light show here ahead of kick-off. Fireworks too. It's almost as if it's a big game or something.

If this is a dour draw we're all going to be fuming. It'd be a huge win for City if they can manage it, not just for the points but psychologically. Especially with the absentees.
