New Spurs boss Antonio Conte to BT Sport: "I'm delighted for this new experience. We are ready. My feeling is good.

"This is an important game. We need to win. This cup is important for the club. We want to go to the next step. There is only one way tonight, to win.

"It's not an easy situation when the club changes manager during a season. We have to do better than before. I've seen great commitment, character and will to work."

The appointment of Antonio Conte as Tottenham manager represents a "real challenge" for clubs who "sit outside the elite", says Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.

Spurs named Conte as their replacement for the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo on Tuesday.

Rodgers said he had sympathy for Nuno, and in discussing Conte's arrival said: "He maximises what he gets from the squad and I think he will do the same at Tottenham.

"It’s a real challenge for a number of us clubs who sit outside the elite. We have to continue that fight.”

Spurs captain Hugo Lloris: “We are full of ambition in this competition, and we are not in a good position in the table.

“It’s a must-win game. There are still three games to play in this group stage and we have ambition to finish first and to go through to the next round.

“For that, we need to deliver a big performance not only for this competition, but to start well in the new process under Antonio Conte.

“We need to switch on with a new manager, with new ideas of football, with a new philosophy of work, and it demands a lot, energy, focus, from everyone.

"Again, we have to put all our energy into the next two games, deliver the best performances and play the football the manager expects from us.”

Spurs would be on the brink of elimination if they lose today.

They sit two points below second-placed Vitesse after losing in the Netherlands two weeks ago.

Third place in a Champions League group goes to the Europa League. Third place in a Europa League group goes to the Europa Conference League.

There is no fourth-tier European tournament for anybody to drop into though...

    Tomas Soucek (own goal)

West Ham unable to hang on!

Genk level with three minutes remaining.

It comes through excellent play down the right from substitute Angelo Preciado, who came on just second earlier.

He flashes in a cross into the box and Tomas Soucek finishes superbly with a flying header in at the near post.

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola had no chance - only problem is that it's at the wrong end of the pitch.
