So that's it from us tonight, thank you for your company and we hope you enjoyed the game and my ramblings on it.

That's a big win for Swansea City and their fans will be as delighted as their manager Russell Martin.

For Bristol City, it's unwanted history with 12 winless home games their worst ever run. We won't dwell on it, Robins fans have already had their weekend ruined.

But it's the Championship, we go again really soon.

Don't forget to join the crew tomorrow who will guide you through QPR v Barnsley in the early kick-off at Loftus Road before 10 Championship games at 3pm and all the League One and League Two action as well.

    The good old EFL eh?

    Good night.

  2. Pearson 'not worried' despite unwanted recordpublished at 22:19 British Summer Time 20 August 2021

FT: Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told Sky Sports: "It's disappointing not to get something out of the game because of how we approached it and the number of chances we created.

"We've had a really bad run of results at home which is something people read into, but the two games here this season we've played with real positive intent despite getting just one point.

"I'm not worried, I would be if we looked nervy like last year (season), it's just a case of us not taking our chances.

"It was one of those games where you can scratch your head, but I know our players applied themselves well.

"I trust our players, let's be clear, and there have been lots of opinions on our squad but I know to improve on it will cost lots of money and we're not in a position to do that.

"I'm really pleased with the squad, and I'm not ruling out business, but I thought we went about the game in the right way but well played to Swansea.

"Whenever one mistake is made it's important you don't make two, that's something we're continuing to work at.

"As I say, compared to last season, we didn't know what sort of performance we'd get when they took to the field, but I know them now."

  3. 'Our worst performance despite first win'published at 22:13 British Summer Time 20 August 2021

FT: Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

Swansea City head coach Russell Martin told Sky Sports: "It's a big relief for the fans and players to go and get that first win.

"It sounds crazy but it's probably the worst we have played, but I love the fact the guys dug in.

"We didn't have too many scary moments in that second half, a couple early in the first half, but I'm really proud of them for getting up and running.

"For us we really trust the process, but I think the quicker you get that win the easier it is to convince everyone else.

"Some people find it [our tactics] a little scarier than I do, we've had a few already here, and moving forward I hope we'll have a little more dominance like we did tonight.

"I'm disappointed with parts of tonight but we will improve from it.

"Joel [Piroe] wasn't quite used to the intensity in the first week, but since our chat he's been fantastic, he worked so hard tonight and he took his chance brilliantly."

Speaking on Matt Grimes' future, Martin added:

"He's been great on and off the pitch, he's the captain for a reason, at times tonight he was a little tired but nothing has changed, he's our player and we haven't had a bid.

"So as far as I'm concerned he's ours and until I'm told different he is."

  4. 'It's all noise around me at the moment'published at 22:04 British Summer Time 20 August 2021

FT: Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

Swansea City midfielder Matt Grimes told Sky Sports: "It's a massive win, to get off the mark.

"To come here, it's always tough, but the fans were fantastic and it's great to give them something to shout about.

"It's been a transition with the new manager coming in to implement his ideas, we've had game after game and we're growing each game.

"Today wasn't as tidy as the past but it's three points at a tough place to come.

"Everyone watches these games and there are a few edge of the seat moments but it takes bravery and it's how we want to play.

"Joel (Piroe's) link up play is very good, and he's got the eye for a goal, we need to keep putting him in those positions and hopefully he'll come good for us.

"It's always good to get that first win of the season, until that it is lingering over you, so to get it is fantastic and hopefully it will lead to many more."

On his future, Grimes gave little away.

"It's all noise around me at the moment, I give everything for this club every time I play and that's all I can say about it."
