"You're only here to watch the Swans," the away fans chant after their first spell of pressure in the match.

A hint of irony perhaps? Either way, having watched their side weather some intense pressure earlier in this match, the travelling supporters are pleased to see Swansea getting a grip of things now.

Andreas Weimann shoots, but it's miles over.

  4. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

    Big save Daniel Bentley!

Bristol City don't clear the corner and Joel Piroe fires at goal, but Bentley stood tall and the ball hit his chest and deflected away.

The Swans wanted a penalty as Bristol City eventually cleared, but the referee wasn't interested.

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

A good break for Swansea and it's another chance for Joel Piroe, but this time he dragged his shot wide, via a deflection.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 36 mins

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

"Premier League winner" (compulsory disclaimer) Danny Simpson now into the book for a tug. A little unlucky.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 35 mins

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

Joel Piroe goes in the book for an absolute forward's tackle on Han-Noah Massengo.

He was later than the James Bond film.

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

Alex Scott again tests Steven Benda as he fires across goal, but Benda gets down well and makes a sharp save.

Scott, who is a few more runs and stepovers away from me calling him the Championship Jack Grealish, has been really threatening so far.

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

The goal has really knocked the stuffing out of the hosts.

For 20 minutes they looked terrific.

Now they look like a side staring at the wrong side of a dozen home games without a win.

    Bristol City 0-1 Swansea City

No exaggeration to say that goal was the best moment of Swansea's season so far.

Russell Martin's side were up against it, but they scored with their first real opportunity.

A big goal for a team without a win in the league.

    Joel Piroe

    What a finish!

The Swans are ahead against the run of play and while they are fortunate, there was nothing lucky about the goal.

Joel Piroe's excellent effort smashed against the base of the base but came straight back to him and he kept his composure to produce a lovely curled effort that found the top corner.

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

A menacing run from Alex Scott sees Matty James head at goal, but Benda saves.

Then James drives at goal, but Benda again keeps the ball out.

Bristol City unlucky to be level.

Russell Martin is still only three weeks into the job as Swansea head coach and you can see it's going to take time for his players to implement his intricate playing style.

As they have done in previous matches, the Swans have already played themselves into trouble on a couple of occasions tonight as they struggle to pass out from the back under pressure from Bristol City.

Patience is the buzzword around Swansea at the moment - but it doesn't look like they'll have much time against their high-octane opponents tonight.

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

Period of possession for the Swans, better from them.

They are now probing and have won their first corner... but they waste it.

  17. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

Liam Cullen almost gets on the end of a (gasp) long ball from Swansea.

I guess it's a testament to Bristol City's intense start that Swansea are trying longer passes.

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

Real intensity shown by Nigel Pearson's side so far.

The home fans are in good voice, they like what they have seen so far.

  19. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

Another long throw, but this time Steven Benda grabs it.

A reprieve for the Swans, it's been all Bristol City so far.

  20. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Swansea City

Swansea are all over the place!

Steven Benda gives the ball away, but the goalkeeper makes up for it with a big save to deny Alex Scott.

The ball isn't cleared and Chris Martin eventually hooks wide from close range, he really should score, you would expect him to.

    Could be 1-0.
