    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

I wonder if Lee Johnson will have anyone round for the game?

The father-of-three, 35, covered his house in 64 England flags to celebrate the Euros and has said the response has been "brilliant".

He plastered his terraced house on a main road in Basildon, Essex, and admitted he had "gone a bit over the top".

The display has prompted beeping horns and shouts of approval from passing traffic, and donations to the Brain Tumour Charity.

"My kids are loving it, especially after the year we've had," he said. "It's completely covered from top to bottom - I didn't plan to do that much."

It took several hours to complete over four "excruciatingly hot" days, with a friend helping out with some of the loftier perches, as Mr Johnson is "not the best with heights".

Fans will be watching the big game in pubs, on the streets and at home, as well as at Wembley Stadium - but guidance and rules remain in place to stop the spread of Covid.

Here BBC News explains who can go to the semi-final, how you can watch at the pub, whether you can hug your mates when there's a goal or if you can invite them to your place.

'Has it ever been home?'published at 10:30 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

England have won the World Cup in 1966 while Denmark won the Euros in 1992. So that gave Kasper Schmeichel some ammo when he responded to England fans saying 'It's Coming Home'.

"Has it ever been home? I don't know, have you ever won it?" said the Leicester goalkeeper, before being reminded about 1966.

"Was that not the World Cup? To be honest, I haven't given any thought to what it would mean to stop England more than what it would do for Denmark.

"To be honest, I've focused very little on the England national team. It doesn't really mean anything to me. It's what it would do for our country back home. The joy it would bring to a country of only five-and-a-half million to be able to do something like that, or compete with the nations we're competing with."

Have to say, it made me chuckle. Nothing wrong with a bit of harmless banter before the big game.

Former Manchester United and Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be cheering on his home nation and son Kasper later.

Peter helped Denmark defy the odds to win Euro 1992. Rock, paper, scissors for Kasper to help them repeat the feat this year?

Here's the Leicester keeper from way back then, wearing the colourful jersey his father wore during that tournament. Best keeper top ever?

  7. We should all sample the nervous energy - Dixonpublished at 10:20 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

    Lee Dixon
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Former England defender Lee Dixon echoed Gary Lineker's thoughts that Gareth Southgate has gained the nation's trust.

"It's amazing," he said. "We all need to sit down with our breakfast and coffee this morning and just sample that nervous energy that is going through everybody because it is a rare thing and the players go through that process as well, but the difference is that's what they are trained to do.

"I have every confidence in them because of Gareth Southgate. What he's done is absolutely sensational. Yes, we're a semi-final away from getting to the final but he's gained the trust of the nation.

"We're all selecting our teams for the first game and saying 'why isn't he playing Grealish' and 'why isn't he doing this'. Now all of a sudden people are waiting for the team saying who's he going to pick and what's he going to do with an excitement because we trust in what he's doing."

Francesca Gunn: The Danes are gonna be tough and they have the extra motivation to do it for Eriksen… but it’s coming home!

  9. 'England will be favourites but it will be tough'published at 10:12 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

BBC presenter Gary Lineker added that England will be favourites against Denmark, but they can expect a tough game.

"It will be interesting to see if Gareth Southgate changes the system again because Denmark play with three at the back and when we played against Germany, he switched the system to accommodate them," said the former England striker. "I don't think there will be too many changes, personnel-wise.

"It's going to be very difficult and tough but England have to be favourites. England will be favourites. Denmark will be tougher opposition than Ukraine, with some good young players that have excelled in the tournament, as well as the experience.

"They are on a wave of emotion and togetherness, like England in that sense, but in perhaps different motivation because of what happened to Christian Eriksen."

  11. Southgate is a terrific leader - Linekerpublished at 10:05 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

    Gareth SouthgateImage source, Getty Images

Gareth Southgate has led England to back-to-back semi-finals in major competitions, and Gary Lineker was full of praise for the Three Lions' boss.

"I've been really impressed with Gareth Southgate, like I was three years ago in the World Cup, when he didn't quite get to the final," said the former England striker.

"But this is a better team, with much better players, much greater strength in the squad.

"The way he has kept the players together and the way he's supported them not just on the field but off the field is really important.

"He's shown great empathy, he's a terrific leader, very thoughtful and incredibly intelligent. He's gained the trust of the team and the nation in the last few weeks and I'm not sure that was the case at the beginning."

Euro 2020: Gary Lineker says England have been 'near to perfect'

Gary Lineker spoke with the BBC's Eleanor Roper about the England team's progress.

"England's campaign has been near perfect. The only game they probably fared poorly was Scotland, but I've played in many games against your neighbours, particularly against Republic of Ireland (in 1990 World Cup). They are one-offs and difficult," said the former England striker.

"They've been solid and got better as the tournament's progressed. Beating Germany was a big mental block to overcome and it was an almost perfect performance against Ukraine.

"They've got great depth in their squad, so it's looking good. It's knockout football so anything can happen but, all being well, they'll make it to the final."

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Former PE teachers of Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka have been telling BBC Radio 5 Live how proud they are of their former pupils.

Mark Harvey is Saka's former PE teacher and current assistant head at Greenford High School in London. He says they are proud of how he attacks the defence.

“He plays with no fear,” he said.

Mark says Saka was talented at all sports. “He still holds the long jump record in school!” he added.

Dave Thorpe was Sterling’s former PE teacher and lives round the corner from Wembley.

“I used to teach him when he was eight or nine, running rings around us as members of staff, and he’s now doing the same thing.”

  17. 'Denmark have escalated after a tough start'published at 09:36 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

    Peter Lovenkrands
Former Denmark and Rangers striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

"Its going to be a very tough game. I actually had England as favourites before the tournament started and they have proven that, the way they have been playing so far.

"England are not going to get a better chance to get to the final but the same goes for Denmark, who I think have surprised a lot of people.

"Everybody kind of knew that Denmark had something and were maybe a dark horse, and they have proven it after a very tough start after what happened to Christian Eriksen. They have escalated and started to play really good football again.

"Denmark have always done well in the big rounds of Euros or World Cups and I think that comes down to the players not tending to stay in our home country. We like to go abroad and play in the big leagues. Most of the players in this team play in big leagues all over Europe."

In the space of barely two weeks, Denmark have experienced "emotions of a lifetime" at Euro 2020 - and their rollercoaster ride continues.

Having to cope with seeing Christian Eriksen suffer a cardiac arrest on the pitch, and losing their first two games, the country galvanised and beat Russia in the final group game.

Now the side are riding the crest of a wave and have reached the semi-finals, where they will face in-form England at Wembley.

BBC Sport takes a look at how the Danes are living an unforgettable story.

  19. Eriksen invited to Euro 2020 finalpublished at 09:27 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    England v Denmark (20:00 BST)

Uefa has invited Denmark international Christian Eriksen and the paramedics who helped save his life during an on-field cardiac arrest to attend the Euro 2020 final at Wembley on Sunday.

The Danish midfielder was resuscitated in front of shocked fans and a global television audience during his nation's first match of the tournament. The ex-Tottenham player, 29, is now recovering at home.

Uefa said Eriksen, his wife and six medics were invited to the final, but there was no confirmation he would attend. One of the paramedics, Peder Ersgaard, said he was honoured to receive a VIP invite from Uefa boss Aleksander Ceferin.

"I'm excited, like a child on Christmas Eve," he told the Fagbladet FOA magazine. "I'm very proud of my efforts, but also of the whole team. It wasn't a one-man effort."

Initially traumatised but then inspired by the emotion over Eriksen's plight, Denmark have stormed into the semi-finals.

"I hope to see Denmark against Italy. That would be really, really big. Just imagine if they become European champions," Ersgaard added.
