You have to wonder if Arsenal will be looking to get their game against Tottenham postponed on Sunday?

They've picked up injuries to Cedric Soares and Bukayo Saka tonight, Granit Xhaka is now suspended to add to a whole host of injuries, international call-ups and Covid-19 cases.

That's for another day. All on Mikel Arteta's mind for these last six or seven minutes is finishing off the defensive job here.

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Remember, the second leg is in a week's time. Chelsea await the winners.

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain flicks the ball up for himself 25 yards out and tries his luck for what would've been a stunning goal, but it's well wide and Aaron Ramsdale, remarkably, remains untested.

Whatever happens in the last 10 or so minutes, Granit Xhaka owes his Arsenal team-mates after he had let them down after only 24 minutes.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Another problem for Arsenal as England international Bukayo Saka is limping about.

Nuno Tavares, who was withdrawn before 35 minutes of the game against Nottingham Forest had been played, is ready to come on for him.

This will be an amazing result for Arsenal, with 10 men, at Anfield. This is unheard of.

  7. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

That's now 50 minutes Arsenal have been down to 10 men and Liverpool have still not had a shot on target all match.

Sometimes Arsenal can be accused of being fragile and folding under pressure, not today. A superb, backs-to-the-wall defensive performance so far. But they still have at least 15 minutes to see out.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 76 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

A triple change for Jurgen Klopp - he has now made four of his allowed five substitutes.

On comes ex-Arsenal man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as well as Joe Gomez and Neco Williams, with Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip all being replaced.

  9. Postpublished at 73 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Gabriel gets a yellow card for Arsenal, Rob Holding heads the resulting free-kick behind for a Liverpool corner, but it comes to nothing.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2022

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

We have a shot on target. In the 71st minute. And it is for the visitors.

Kieran Tierney plays a superb ball in from the left, Bukayo Saka's first touch is good and he gets a shot off but Alisson had closed the angle and makes the save with his knee.

Nearly a great moment for the visitors.

We're seeing James Milner sitting in the stands holding a massive ice pack to his head, which may have led to Curtis Jones' introduction.

  13. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

A half-chance for Liverpool's Takumi Minamino on his left foot from a tight angle but it's a disappointing effort as he slides it across the face of goal but well wide of Aaron Ramsdale's goal. Still no shot on target.

Khan Karn: Alexander Arnold has also been so poor today, give Neco Williams a go? And Ox for Hendo.

  15. Postpublished at 67 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

It's a wall of blue shirts camped on the edge of the Arsenal penalty area as Liverpool try to find their way through.

How they've missed the creative skills of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane tonight.

  16. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

They're getting a bit nervous on Arsenal social media.

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

An hour gone, still neither side yet to register a shot on target. But I've seen many, many worse 0-0 draws than this one.

Thirty minutes more of this and Mikel Arteta will be delighted, especially coming off the back of an embarrassing FA Cup exit at Nottingham Forest a few days ago.

Mark Willis: For the love of God Liverpool, please stop passing the ball around Arsenal's box and just shoot!

Sultan of Aba: One counter will do it, the Liverpool defence don't have much speed.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 61 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Jurgen Klopp's had enough and makes his first change of the night, bringing on Curtis Jones for James Milner in the midfield.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 58 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Andy Robertson is the first Liverpool man in the book after pulling back Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal's best hope tonight could be set pieces and the free-kick is to the right of the penalty area but Alisson does well to come off his line and punch it out for a throw in.
