Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa
There has been a lot of talk that the Arsenal penalty was awarded after the half-time whistle went.
But what actually happened was that the referee Craig Pawson was whistling to stop play so he could view the incident - not blowing for the break.
Even if it had happened after half-time, there would have been enough time for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score the rebound - because there was time left on the clock when the foul was committed.

Oh my. That could have set up a grandstand finish. Ollie Watkins just can't get enough on Matt Targett's cross to pull another goal back for Villa.
Jacob Ramsey
Calm as you like Jacob Ramsey curls in from the edge of the Arsenal box.
Aaron Ramsdale had no chance with that one, which flew right into the top corner.
The Arsenal keeper may have questions about how Leon Bailey was allowed to travel across the edge of his penalty area mind.

Villa left-back Matt Targett is having one of those nights.
Bukayo Saka has got his number and he does not like it one bit, swiping at the Arsenal forward as he skips away from him.
Yellow all day long.

You kind of feel Arsenal needed that. Villa were back in the game but you feel the game now is done and dusted. Villa's defence has been really woeful.

Camatriix: The speed at which Smith-Rowe plays is exceptional. Top class prospect
Jon Evans: McGinn's passing is awful. A workhorse but really needs to improve his passing game. How many times does he give the ball away needlessly?
Emile Smith Rowe
Brilliant. And it all comes from John McGinn's misplaced pass on the edge of the Arsenal penalty area.
Emile Smith Rowe intercepts and is then off on his bike as a couple of passes are popped off before the ball reaches him racing down the left channel.
He lines up a right-foot shot that takes a deflection off Tyrone Mings before hitting the left post and back of the Villa net.

Better from the visitors. Danny Ings collects the ball eight yards from goal but Ben White is quickly over to block his shot.
First effort on goal that for Villa.
