  1. 'There was no need to panic'published at 14:38 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Everton v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5Live

This is what shocked me about the whole appointment. Watford are not struggling. They had seven points from seven games when they got rid of Xisco Munoz. For a newly promoted Premier League team, I think that is right on the money.

That equates to 38 points at the end of the season, not far from that magical 40-point mark which more or less keeps you in the Premier League. There was no need to panic.

The difference about this for me is the manager who has come in. He is more high profile than their previous managers. I hope that stands him in good stead and allows him longer to implement his style.

Rory McCarron: Brentford finished third, went up via play-offs, no parachute payments or big backing and gave Chelsea a run for their multi-million pound money last week. You would never believe Norwich won the EFL Championship last year based on this…

Nick Bruzon: Brackets for Chelsea. Simply awful for Norwich. Less Canaries, more turkeys. An absolute stuffing.

  3. Big game for Leedspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Leeds v Wolves (15:00BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

This is a big game for Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa's men know a victory will take them clear of trouble at the bottom end of the league - but defeat could drop them into the bottom three by 5 o'clock this evening.

This is precisely the type of game that - with the crowd behind them - they should be winning.

Phew, that was a bit lively! Seven goals and a red card. Wonder if we'll get that much action combined in the four games coming up at 3pm...

  5. 'I love watching Mount'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    FT: Chelsea 7-0 Norwich

    Andy Reid
Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mason Mount is quality, I really enjoy watching him play. His first touch, his guile, the positioning he takes up; he's got such a good football brain. I'm really pleased to see young players develop at Chelsea.

    FT: Chelsea 7-0 Norwich

Chelsea stay top of the Premier League and send out a statement to their title rivals.

Yes, Norwich were abysmal but the home team were sensational.

No Romelu Lukaku or Timo Werner? No problem.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

    Chelsea 7-0 Norwich

    Wow.

Could have been eight... Hakim Ziyech fires over when a free-kick is pulled back to the edge of the box.

That leaves ref Andy Madley deciding it is time to stop this bloodbath.

Chelsea smiles are wider than the Thames as the home fans skank to Madness in the stands.

HAT-TRICK HERO! Three points and the matchball. What an afternoon for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

The England international slots in his third after Ruben Loftus-Cheek beats the offside trip to lay it on a plate.

  10. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90 mins

    Chelsea 6-0 Norwich

Three minutes of injury-time. Norwich collectively sigh.

Still plenty of time for a seventh...

Not that I want to compound Norwich's problems, but why was the handball not a red card????

Can't remember the last time Norwich were out of their own half.

If this was a boxing match the Canaries would have been given a standing count about half an hour ago.

    One three-minute round to go...

Steve in Milan: Retake? That's mad and I am a Chelsea fan. Game is going to pot.

Bob Moss: Lol, keep taking penalty until you score.

  15. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 6-0 Norwichpublished at 85 mins

    Mason Mount

No mistake this time! Mount-Krul II is won by the Chelsea man, who drills straight down the middle.

Krul was trying the mind games and it almost worked, to be fair. The Norwich keeper got a knee to the ball but couldn't stop it going in.

Hang on! It's going to be retaken. Krul came off his line.

Does Mount go again? Ross Barkley is chirping in his ear. Think he wants it.

    Nope, it will be Mount...

Only going to be one decision once Andy Madley went over, wasn't there?

But we know all about Tim Krul's record against penalties...

  19. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 81 mins

    Chelsea 5-0 Norwich

Does Norwich's Mathias Normann handle to stop Toni Rudiger's shot going goalwards? Think so.

    A sixth looks likely, though.

Chelsea's subs are disparate to grab a goal.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek shoots low for Tim Krul to gather before the Norwich keeper produces two stunning saves from Ross Barkley and Hakim Ziyech.
